I walked into the open room. Knowing from the nurse that it was Daniel’s room. Thomas looked up at me as he was looking at his little brother sitting on the couch beside his bed with his arms crossed over his chest. He smiled at the sight of me, and stood up wrapping his arms around me as hugged me.
“You okay?” I asked and he sighed and nodded. Cupping my cheeks, he kissed my forehead and I smiled leaning into his touch. No longer rejecting it. I knew that he liked that I wasn’t rejecting him anymore. The fact that I was willing to trust him was something that he cherished, and I knew that he was doing everything in his power to earn my trust. That fact alone hurt me as I realized that I was not as honest with him. The deal with his mother was still on, and I haven’t done anything
