Chapter 2 : The Beginning

MIA’S POV

I woke up in the morning feeling as fresh as ever, It was Saturday morning I feel great, My family stopped abusing me verbally thanks to my second personality, I’ll thank her someday. I stood up to my bed, I saw my desks were full of books and beside my desk was a tv with a video game console, the console was so black and has cat stickers in them, it’s really cute. I looked at my closet and there were clothes there that I would never wear but my other personality would definitely wear them. I don’t know what my other personalities are but I’ll find out myself once I find an appropriate friend. I started to change my clothes, brush my hair, and went downstairs to eat breakfast. “Good morning Mia” my mother said with a smile on her face “Good morning mother” I replied to her, “So what are your plans for today” mother said as she reached out for the breakfast she cooked for me “I don’t know, I guess I’ll try to learn about my personalities, this is gonna be really difficult since I don’t remember what happens I said with a worried tone Don’t worry honey, I’m sure one day you’ll get the hang of it,” She said as I sighed then started to eat. After eating I decided to go outside and have a walk to get some fresh air as well I inhaled deeply then exhaled and hoped my other personalities won’t suddenly show up.

As I went outside I walked and started thinking about what I look like with these personalities seeing me do something I can’t ever do. While I was walking I suddenly bumped into someone, we both fell on the floor “Oh no! I’m so sorry I wasn’t looking” I said while panicking as I reached my hand to her “Oh it’s okay, I wasn’t looking as well,” She said as she grabbed my hand and I helped her get up “Hey, I’ve never seen you around here, are you new?” She asked “Oh, no. I just don’t go out of the house often, probably just now” I said nervously “Oh I see, well do you wanna hang out?” she said as I shyly nodded to her "Come, I know a cafe nearby" she said while I follow her to the coffee shop. She was really friendly, which is a good thing, coz if she’s shy too we’d probably not get along pretty much. While we’re walking I was getting nervous and worried because my other personality might suddenly appear out of nowhere and ruin my friendship with my first friend.

As we arrived at the cafe, we sat down and had a little talk then I started getting worried again “are you okay?” She asked “Oh yes I’m sorry did I made you worry,” I said shyly “Oh, not at all. I’m just concerned, don’t be shy or scared around me I don’t bite” She said with a happy smile “Oh, it’s not you, I just, have a problem and I’m afraid of it” I told her looking away with worry “Oh, is that so” she said while she took a sip from her coffee “Where do you live by the way” I asked her with my gentle voice “Well, I actually don’t live here, I live in Nebraska. I’m just here right now because I’m staying with my sister who lives here” she said smiling at me “oh, is that so” I said as I suddenly started to frown “What’s wrong” she asked once more “Oh, it’s just I never had a single friend my whole life” I told her as my chest started to beat fast ”why is that” she continued asking “I just..” I said as I started to have tears drop from my eyes “Oh no I'm so sorry I shouldn’t have asked,” she said while I tightly hold my cup, “No, it’s not you” I said as I sipped from my coffee “since your my first friend, I’ll tell you everything, and if you want to stay away from me, I completely understand” I told her while I wipe my tears. Then I told her everything, my disorder, me being homeschooled, all of my traumas

After all the talking, she talked as well “Oh my gosh, I didn’t know how bad you’ve been through your whole life, I completely understand” She said while I wipe the tears from my eyes “On Monday I’m gonna be going to school, I wish I could just cover my face and never communicate with people there” I said still continuing to cry. “I understand what you feel, don’t worry I’ll always be here for you now from now on, let’s exchange numbers,” She said. Hearing that suddenly made me smile slightly because I’ve never met such a kind person before. I was so happy. After we exchanged numbers I felt slight dizziness and nausea “Oh no” I said as I stood up and fell on the floor “Mia? Are you okay??” she said as I slowly lost my consciousness and everything became pitch black

LUCY’S POV

I woke up in a cafe, there was a girl in front of me, she was calling Mia, she must be Mia’s friend “Mia! What happened?” the girl said “pfft Mia? Sorry, my name is not Mia” I told her with a sassy tone as I tied my hair “Who are you then” She told me with a confused face “My name is Lucy, the sassier, tougher, and confident person than that stupid weakling I told her. So you must be her second personality, Lucy” she said while she crossed her arms “So she told her about her disorder and about us I’m guessing?” I told her with that sharp look on my face, “Yes she did, that doesn’t bother you at all, does it?” She said. “I didn’t say anything like it. Anyway, I got to go, explain to Mia that I have to do something back home” I told her as I walked away without saying a word to her. While I was walking I checked the phone to see if I can see what Mia has been doing and why she went outside. While I was doing so, I saw that she has the girls’ number. Olivia West, what a lovely name. I arrived home and went inside the house “Oh Mia, you’re home” mom said “No mom” I said as I looked at her “Oh, hello Lucy” She said with a slightly nervous tone “Stop being so nervous around me I’m not gonna bite” I said while going up to my room. When I entered the room I quickly changed my clothes and tied up my hair. After doing those I received a message on my phone

That girl from earlier texted me, but it’s for Mia so I’m just gonna ignore it. I lie down on my bed and think of something good to do, but while I was lying down someone knocked on my door “Lucy?” My sister opened my door “Hey, can I ask you something” she said approaching me “Sure” I said with a bored tone. “I know you’re really bored right now so I was wondering if you’d like to go to a party with me,” She said gently “Oh please, you know I’m sick, what if I suddenly ruin your party by changing my personality, you know I can’t control it,” I said angrily “I know but I don’t care, you’re my favorite side of Mia,” she said begging me to come “stop talking nonsense sis,” I said. “Come on Lucy, I know you’re bored and don’t have plans, please come with me” She begged me on her knees “Ugh, fine just stand up and do not do that again,” I said “thanks so much, Lucy! You’re the best” she said while standing up “the party starts at 6 am, be sure to be ready” She said while running downstairs. I don’t know why my sister wanted me to come, but something smells fishy. Since I don’t really have plans to do I decided to accept my sister's offer and go to this party with them.

It was 5:49 PM and I’m almost ready to go, I wore a red crop top wearing a black short skirt with my hair tied up along with white sneakers, gosh I look so beautiful. I walked downstairs and heard Mika downstairs she yelled “Mom, we’re gonna go to a party and we’re bringing Mia” “What?! You’re bringing her?!” I heard my brother yelled “yeah, why not” Mika asked “are you crazy, can’t you see she’s sick, she’s just gonna ruin the party” he said yelling quietly “I don’t believe so, she deserves to be happy too, besides it’s Lucy who’s on right now” she said with a smirk “Ugh fine, I’m blaming you if the party was ruined by her, understand!” He said storming off “whatever” she said looking at the mirror getting ready. I continued going downstairs and sat on the couch using my phone. While I was waiting I received a message from Olivia again. She said “hey! I was just wondering if this is Mia now who’s using the phone” I had to let her know so I replied “Lucy” After a while she replied “Oh hi lucy! Thank you for replying” she said. After that my sister said we’re gonna leave now so I stood up and went to the party with them.
