Chapter 4: The Plan

SKYLAR’S POV

I woke up it was morning, wow what date it is, I checked my phone and I saw it was June 19, It’s Sunday, I took a look at my phone and saw a message from a girl named Olivia West, she said “hello! Good morning! I’m sure this isn’t Mia yet, but I just want to make sure” I didn’t wanna be rude, " so I replied to her “Who are you” I asked. “Oh hello, Skylar! I’m Olivia West, I’m Mia and probably your other personalities’ friend” she said with a smiling emoji “How did you know my name” I asked “well Mia told me everything so I kinda know your names now, all of you. It’s also kinda what I explained to your other personalities” She said with a  laughing emoji, I just ignored it this time since I have to read a book since I have nothing else important to do, but first I decided to eat breakfast downstairs, and of course, I have to do it while reading because it has become my hobby. 

  I walked downstairs wearing my glasses with my hair in a bun style and carrying a book, I saw them all already eating, they didn’t bother to call me, I quickly walk to the kitchen because I smelled my favorite breakfast, eggs with bacon. It smells so good I sat down and took some food, this time nobody greeted me good morning. I read on the table while eating breakfast when suddenly “Lily, what did we tell you about reading a book while eating” mom said as I rolled my eyes without showing her, I put down my book and said “first of all, correction I am Skylar, and secondly, why don’t you tell that to Matthew who’s using his phone while eating”  said going back to my reading “but it’s not a book, is it” she said with her arms crossed “Ugh fine” I said to her as I put down my book and ate angrily. Since my brother is using his phone, nothing’s wrong if I use mine right. I quickly took my phone and used it, I haven’t even unlocked my password yet when suddenly

  ”Skylar, no phones on the table” mom said looking annoyed and angry “didn’t you just said phones are allowed,” I told her upset “Matthew’s doing something important” she replied, “Yeah sure, playing on his phone is something important huh” I crossed my arms “he’s playing an important game,” She said “see look at this unfairness you’re doing” I yelled “do you want me to take your breakfast or are you going to shut your mouth,” she said since I’m really hungry I decided to keep eating but with an angry expression, and I continued reading my book while eating. After I finished eating, I was the last one to finish, mom started to clean the table while my two siblings were just using their phones, I stood up and walked to the living room while reading when suddenly “Where do you think you’re going” she said “I’m going to read in the living room, why” I said fixing my glasses

  ”you’re going to help me do the chores” she yelled “why don’t you let those two do it,” I said angrily carrying my book “they’ve already done their chores, you were so busy with the book that you didn’t even notice,” She said. I know she’s lying, even if I am focused In my book I always pay attention to my surroundings, I’m not like Mika and Matthew when they’re really focused on their phones “Oh really, what did they do huh” I said “stop making reasons to throw your work to others” she yelled as Mika and Matthew started going to the living room “Now go wash the dishes” She commands me “look who’s throwing their work to others,” I said murmuring while approaching the sink with an upset face. I quickly washed the dishes because I’m very interested in what will happen next to the book I’m reading, as I finished I quickly went to the living room to read. While I was reading my book I was hearing my family’s conversation in the kitchen I couldn’t help but listen

  “When are we gonna do it mom” I heard Matthew said, what did he mean when, what are they gonna do “Shh she might hear you,” mom said shushing him, what are they planning, and why are they not involving me in it “mom how about we don’t do this, after all, we can take advantage on one of her sides” I heard Mika said, what is she talking about. After that, I couldn’t understand the other things they were talking about so I just ignored it and continued reading. 5:34 PM, I felt my phone vibrating so I checked who it was “Hi Skylar, I really wanna meet you, can we meet up somewhere” The girl named Olivia West texted, I replied to her “Sure, meet me at the nearest cafe” I told her, that place was actually the only cafe I know so I hope she knows what I’m talking about. I went outside while carrying my book to meet up with this Olivia, I went to the door and yelled that I’m going out and nobody answered, I wasn’t really surprised

  I walked on the streets while reading a book, as a person who loves to read at every movement, I had to learn how to understand what I’m reading and at the same time paying attention to my surroundings, it wasn’t really that hard. I finally arrived at the cafe, since I don’t know what Olivia looks like, I sat someplace and let her approach me. After 5 minutes, a girl approached me, she was wearing a black tight shirt while on a ponytail wearing jeans and white shoes “Hello Skylar” she waved “hey” I said while still reading my book “you’re really focused on your book huh” she said as she sat beside me “yeah, but I know how to understand my reading while focusing on something else so you can still talk to me” I said not looking away from my book “well, now I know what Skylar looks like and what her hobbies are” Olivia said “what are you talking about” I told her looking at her closing my book “well Mia wanted to know what you and your other personalities would do or react so I’m here to do the job” She said with a smile

  ”so, you’re not her friend,” I told her with a serious look “no no no, I am her friend but I’m also doing this for her as a friend,” she said “is that so, I’m sorry I don’t really know anything about friends,” I said fixing my glasses “It’s okay, I understand, I’m your first friend so it makes sense,” she said smiling so sweetly. I suddenly felt that my vision is starting to get blurry even with my glasses on, I can feel that I’m slowly getting dizzy, I already know what’s gonna happen “Hey Olivia” I said “yes Skylar” She replied “There’s something I wanna tell you, and as a friend can you pass it to Mia” I told her removing my glasses “sure what is it” she said. “earlier just now before we met up, I heard my family murmuring stuff in the kitchen, I didn’t hear their full conversation, all I heard was my brother saying when are they gonna do it like do what? Then I heard my mother said to keep their voice down coz I might hear it, then I heard my sister said they could use my other personalities for their own advantage, I’m really curious what they’re planning” I said to her “Hm, alright, I’ll talk to Mia about that” She said to me “thank you, I’m getting a little dizzy so I think Mia’s coming” I said laying my head on the table “oh, okay well just take a rest there” She said sipping her coffee.  I felt really dizzy that every time I stood my head up I feel like puking, so Instead of waiting to faint I just made myself sleep so I wouldn’t feel nausea anymore. I closed my eyes and took a nap

MIA’S POV

I opened my eyes, and I’m really surprised to see myself still at the cafe, like didn’t I switched personalities “hello Mia, welcome back” Olivia said “Oh my gosh Olivia, what happened what date is it” I asked “It’s June 19, Sunday” She replied “What, two days have passed what happened” I panicked “don’t worry I met up with all of them, I’ll tell you everything that happened” she said. While she told me everything about what my other personalities did and what had happened “by the way Mia, today is my last day here in Colorado” She said to me “what but I haven’t even got a chance to hang out with you some more” I said about to start crying “aw, don’t be sad Mia, I’m sure we’ll hang out again next weekend” she replied “It’s gonna take 5 more school days” I said bowing down with a frown

  “Don’t worry Mia, we could always chat” She said, “what do you mean?” I asked “well, while you we’re at Lucy’s state I gave her my number and social media account, so that means we can chat whenever we want” She smiled “oh, well I’m glad to hear that” I smiled while wiping my tears “oh by the way, before I go there’s something important I need to tell you,” She said sounding so serious this time “What it is Olivia,” I said listening to her “Earlier, before you became, you, Skylar was the last personality of yours, and she said something to me and told me to pass it on to you,” She said, “wait you befriended my other personalities?” I said with a shocked expression “Yup, they’re really easy to befriend with, except Lucy and Stella” She chuckled “anyway, Skylar told me that before she met up with me she heard the conversation from your siblings and your mother, I think she heard your brother asked when they’re gonna do it then your mother shushed him and told him to be quiet because you might hear them, then after a while, she heard your sister say they can use you for their own advantage” She said with an incredibly serious face, she looks like she’s also trying to figure out what they’re talking about

  ”I see, I’ll also think about this plan they’re having, thanks for the heads up,” I said smiling “well that’s all for now, thanks for meeting up with me” her expression suddenly turned into a smile “yeah thank you for everything and the info” I smiled shyly “see you again next week” She waved goodbye as I waved back while walking home. While I was walking, I couldn’t stop thinking about my family's plan and why I’m not a part of it. As I arrived home, the same atmosphere was there except it felt worse than before, my family looked at me and didn’t bother to say a word, I sadly went upstairs to my room and closed my door. To keep me busy I stared at the mirror in any hopes that I might be able to talk to my other personalities, I started talking to myself but there wasn’t any luck. I started feeling insecure about what they’re thinking, but I just slept to avoid overthinking

  I woke up it was morning and surprisingly I’m still me, I felt so relieved when I woke up but then I remembered what Olivia told me yesterday I suddenly got nervous again. I went downstairs to eat breakfast, I saw no one eating at the table, they must be finished eating. I quickly went to the table to eat, all I saw were few leftovers of rice and eggs “mother, is this the only food left” I asked “eat whatever is in front of you” She replied “but it's so few, I won’t be full with this many food” I softly said “Mia, we don’t have enough food anymore so stop complaining” She yelled “Okay” I said almost about to cry and ate the leftover egg and rice.  “Mia what did I tell you about crying on the table” She yelled “I’m sorry mother” I stuttered continuing to cry trying to stop, I tried to stop crying but because of the atmosphere I couldn’t and that made mother angrier “Ugh this is exactly the reason why your father left us” she yelled at me “what,” I said looking at her more confused and very shocked.
