Out The Window We Go

607 Words
The hallways seemed like they never ended, it was at moments like these that I wished I had memorized the layout of the school. It would make things a hell of a lot easier for me. I could hear the pounding of feet behind me, I looked around and still didn't find a way out. I could hear them catching up with us and I looked around, still trying to find a way out and I saw my only option. I yanked hard on Ryan, pulling him with me as I jumped for the only possible escape. Out the window we went and I wrapped myself around Ryan. As we were falling, I forced my wings out of my back not caring which type they were, my wings caught the air painfully yanking us. I flew a good distance from the school before landing in a small clearing. Ryan backed away from me and I started to panic as I couldn't have him exposing my secrets. I braced ready to chase after him if he tried to run, but he didn't instead he just studied me for what felt like days. "So you are the Quadbred." Was all that he said to me. His voice didn't give away any emotions. "I am. Though I wish I wasn't, it f*****g sucks and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy." I said, sighing while sitting down. "What's so wrong with your life?" Ryan asked and I could hear in his voice that he was genuinely curious about what I had to say. "Come sit as it is a long story", I patted the area next to me and Ryan moved and sat down. "When I was younger I always felt wrong like something just wasn't right, and both my mother, father and pack all got slaughtered trying to protect me. I ran and I never looked back, and when I was sixteen all the changes happened at once with no one there to guide me through it I was always alone and it just so happened that the guy who's throat you almost ripped out walked in on me as I was shifting and he forced me to sleep with him just so I could keep my secret and I agreed, so I have been sleeping with him for almost a year now." I finished telling everything that has happened to me and I realized I sounded so pathetic. I could feel the tears forming in my eyes and I tried to keep them from falling but they did anyway. Ryan pulled me into a hug and whispered sweet nothings in my ear till I calmed down. I pulled back from the hug to look at him, wanting to ask a question of my own. "How did you even find me? I mean I chose this school because all wolves try and avoid it." "I didn't want to come to this school but it was a punishment as I killed someone in cold blood. I was heading to the dorms when I caught your scent and I followed it to your room and you know the rest." Ryan said, not breaking eye contact. I said nothing and just nodded at him, my eyes softening while looking at him. I yawned and moved, so I was sitting on his lap, resting my head against his chest. Flying always tired me out, I closed my eyes feeling safe for the first time in a long time. Ryan seemed to understand what I was doing as he laid back and rubbed my back, causing me to slip into a light sleep.
