The fear in Ana's eyes was clearly evident as she absorbed the information. Joe was back with a vengeance and it was obvious his powers had increased. From what we observed he died or disappeared or whatever it was at least three times, if that was indeed what the foreboding crevasses represented.
After the long frightening day, Eva had fallen asleep in the backseat of my SUV. Gathering her in one arm I rested her head on my shoulder before opening the passenger door. Ana appeared to be in shock as she sat unblinking, staring at nothing but the dark yard. Grasping her hand I managed to gain her attention.
"I know baby. I am just scared. I cannot believe Joe is back," Ana said exasperated.
