Chapter 7

Lylia was fuming. If she wasn't an omega she would have definitely tried to kill her manager. She shook her head as the violent thoughts started invading her mind again. She just couldn't believe that her manager actually fired her. It was not like she was the one who punched Dylan but apparently she was the reason so her manager wouldn't allow her to work there any longer. It was unfair she knew that but it was also the truth. She tried convincing her manager by sugar-coating her words that it wouldn't happen again but he turned a deaf ear to her and got back to his working. She could clearly see the guilty face of Dylan as he kept staring at them, thinking he was being subtle. She ignored him for a while, attention focused on a manager. She didn't want to get fired. This was her only job and she had to pay for her food and her the books in the upcoming month. She didn't want to burden her mother with these additional expenses but now it seemed as if she had no choice. It was all because of her mate who didn't want her but apparently was too possessive to let her go. She angrily stuffed the extra clothes in her bag not caring the way they were spilling out. She didn't want to stay in this place any longer because of all the looks she was receiving from the staff and her friends. They all heard what happened inside the cabin because her boss was too vocal about it. She didn't want to see the sympathetic looks anymore and felt as if she had the longest day ever. Lylia was sure as soon as she gets back to her room, she would take a long-needed nap and push the events in corner of her mind. "Ly?" Someone whispered and a soft knock followed. She frowned as she smelled an Alpha near the omega room. She swiftly walked towards the door and pushed it open. Dylan was casually standing in front of the door with his hands tucked in his pocket. As soon as she raised her head to look at Alpha she let out a sigh. "What do you want Dylan?" Her voice came a lot more annoyed and forced than she thought. She was definitely not aiming for that tone. "Can I come inside?" He asked while shifting on his feet and giving her a weak smile. She snorted while looking at him. "Can you?" She questioned in a teasing tone. Alphas were not allowed to enter the omegas room. It was their safe space and Alphas breached it with their scent so usually, they weren't allowed. "Please..." He whispered softly so she stared back at him and huffed. It wasn't his fault, not entirely. He was just trying to be her friend but Aiden couldn't wrap his head around that concept and had to spoil everything for them. And by the way, Dylan was uncomfortably shifting his eyes and scrunching his nose she knew he must be in pain with that blow on his face "Fine. What is it?" She questioned while crossing her arms against her chest. "I'm sorry for whatever happened...it sucks that we longer will be able to work together..." He slowly said making her heart clench. In this mess, she actually forgot to think about it. Her workplace was nice, not the best but everyone was sweet to her except her boss. They always enjoyed together, pulled pranks on their chefs. And annoyed the young trainees, whenever they joined. She wouldn't be able to do that anymore. Tears filled her eyes as she thought how she would not be able to come back here tomorrow. She couldn't see Dylan clearly, tears streaming down her eyes. "I wish I could do something..." He said with his bottom lip between his teeth and she could tell that he was being genuine and she let out a sigh. She couldn't believe that Dylan was being so sweet to her even after Aiden broke his nose. "There is... Let's go" She excitedly whispered. *** It has been three days of pain, she threw up the entire night and she felt like she was going to die any minute now. It was pure agony and Amira told her several times to go to the hospital but they cost a fortune so she lied that it was something she ate at the restaurant. She still hasn't told her friend about that little incident back at the restaurant. She was sure it would flip her best friend and she would already drag that Alpha and mock some sense into him. She didn't want that. She's very content with the way things are going. She was actually going to see Dylan because he had a day off. And also because she needed to do something instead of sitting alone in her room and mopping. That gets boring after a while. And she didn't want to chat with Beth because she was a b***h who loved to laugh in Lylia's face about each and everything and if she finds this news it wouldn't be long till the entire school does. She was that powerful at times, a huge snitch and Lylia didn't like her at all. Dylan had planned for them to go to this new waterpark that opened in a new town and it was the only thing everyone was talking about, according to him and he wanted to go and check out. She wanted to deny because she was broke and had to find a job but he didn't hear any of that, insisting he would pay and be happy to drive her. It was his treat. She was sure that he was still feeling guilty and doing all these things to make her happy and she wanted to call him out but her giant teddy bear on the bed was too nice to say anything. The restaurant she worked was only a few blocks away so she thought of walking there because that would save her the bus money. As soon as she was about to turn she spotted a vintage car and an Alpha who looked all too familiar. She was sure that it must be Aiden because of the way he was arrogantly leaning against the hood but she wanted to make sure so she walked further. Two betas dressed in black were the first she saw as she stepped closer. They were standing in a poise straight position with black sunglasses and their arms crossed in front of them. They looked scary and she felt hesitant to approach them but when she saw that Aiden was laughing about something and looked so carefree and unbothered, it made her blood boil. Here she was trying hard to find a decent job and survive while he was out there living the best life. She couldn't stop the ugly feeling inside her chest so she hastily moved towards them. As if he sensed her he turned to look at her, for a second his lips twitched or she imagined but then he remained in the same position, tired look on his face. "Missed me then omega?" He asked with an arrogant smirk on his face and she noticed that Betas shifted in their position but she didn't give them a glance, her eyes focused on her Alpha who looked delectable even though she was angry on him. "Shut the f**k up" She angrily yelled because she was frustrated. She didn't want to have any sort of feelings for him. She shouldn't after he rejected her but one look at him and it felt as if nothing mattered and she wanted him to give her attention. His eyes turned to slit at that not expecting her to raise her voice at him. He stalked towards her. She gulped. Maybe she should have just shut her mouth and walk out but her big mouth always gets her in trouble and this seemed like one of those moments. "Is this the way you talk to your Alpha? Hmm" He asked, his voice calm but his eyes were narrowed at her. The omega felt her stomach clench. She daringly met his eyes because she wasn't going to let him win this time. "You're not my Alpha" She spat looking at him. His smirk vanished and she relished at the fact. He towered over her and she felt his hand on her chin and he harshly tilted her head towards him. She got lost in his eyes for a moment not caring that two Betas were still present and maybe judging them. "The mark on you says otherwise. Did you forget that?" He retorted looking at her.  She rolled her eyes and a sound resembling snort fell from her lips as she met his eyes. "Oh that... I thought I was supposed to forget that" She answered in a bored tone while blinking her eyes sweetly at him. Lylia heard his nose flare and his grip tightened on her chin. She winced but tried not to show on her face. "You're a sassy one, aren't you?" He questioned, his tone irked but she didn't reply just to annoy him more. The Prince moved his eyes towards the Betas and then looked back at her. She shouldn't be affected by the proximity but she was and her slick was already tainting her panties a bit. She was a weak, weak omega, a slave to her desires. "Get in the car" He barked while stepping away from her making her look at him like he grew another head. But when he didn't laugh but kept staring at her she shook her head furiously. "f**k off. I'm not going anywhere with you." She stubbornly said while crossing her arms against her chest hoping it was enough to intimidate him and leave him alone. Why was she even talking with him? She would have reached the restaurant by now. "Don't cause a scene here omega. I can easily lift you and throw you in the car." He warned his tone seriously and she kicked angrily at the pebbles and marched towards the car, ignoring the smirk on his face. She just didn't want to cause a scene. That's why she was going inside. As soon as she harshly shut the door of the car she noticed him sit beside her. She gritted her teeth as she smelled someone else in the car as well and also on her mate who was turning on the ignition. "You stink of someone else" She snarkily said while turning her head towards the head. "You really don't know when to shut up, huh" ***
