"Okay, give me a second. Let me see if I can sense the path." I closed my eyes, and the only way I can describe what I did is that I reached out from a place at the base of my skull, outward, seeking the threads of the web that led us back to our path. That's how I saw our journey now—as traversing toward the center of a web, sometimes hopping from one spoke to the next, but always moving toward the center. I sought that center now, the thing that drew me, the end of my path—the capital city of Lorien and my fate, for good or for ill.
