4 My jail was a pretty nice one, as those things went. After Randall Lenz departed — those ominous last words of his about telling the truth still buzzing in my ears — I waited for a few minutes, just to make sure he wasn’t coming right back to torment me some more. However, as time crawled past and I remained alone, I decided it was probably safe to get up and check out my surroundings.
