Chapter Forty-Eight
Captain Spindler stood on the bridge of the converted SS Castro and watched the two Irishmen march onboard. With the arrival of this final element of his shipment, he issued orders for the vessel to begin preparations to sail.
The mysterious man who had arrived all those weeks ago and been sitting in his small passenger cabin awaiting their arrival had turned out to be the Irish born British politician, Roger Casement.
The entire plan was then explained to the newly minted captain. And he was tasked with sailing to Ireland with Casement, some former Canadian soldiers, and a shipment of weapons to help spark a new Irish revolution against the English monarchy.
Spindler, Casement, and their cargo were all set to sail and were just waiting for a small army of Canadian/
