"What happened? Talk slowly."
"One of the subsidiaries of the Earhart Group was exposed for tax evasion this morning, and now all the reporters in Calgary are waiting outside of the Earhart Group for an explanation. My father had a heart attack when the news came on and has been hospitalized. I'm supposed to handle this, but I really don't know how to. What should I do?"
She was getting more and more hysterical as she spoke.
Roland frowned. "Is it true?"
"What?"
"The tax evasion. Was it true?"
"How is that possible? The Earhart Group has always been a reputable company in Calgary. Even if we really wanted to evade tax, there are so many institutions watching us. Our financials have always been transparent, and there's no way to fake that."
Roland lifted his wrist to check his watch.
