The banquet hall glowed under dazzling lights, bright enough to sting the eyes. Warren stood at the entrance welcoming guests, dressed in a charcoal-gray suit with a white rose pinned to his chest. The instant he spotted me, his eyes brightened, and he hurried over. "Summer, nice to see you." He reached for my hand, but I shifted aside.
