The next morning was chilly. As Justine had alluded to the previous evening, the clear skies overnight had resulted in a sharp drop in temperature leaving a coating of shimmering, white frost glistening in the morning sun. Lorna and Fraser had met Rob and Justine at Hillcrest House for breakfast and the four had sat round the table going over plans and sketches of the Arran View and Kintyre View sites as a precursor to their planned visits. By the time they arrived at Kintyre View, the frost was evaporating under the new warmth of the mid morning sun, creating a mist which rose in whisps from the exposed surfaces. The site was deserted, as all works had been completed by the contractors more than a week previously and their equipment had now gone, leaving only their Portakabin site office
