Senator Robert E Wade had a physical presence and bearing which said ex-military, self-assured, and assertive. A born leader, who knew what he wanted and was prepared to do whatever was necessary to get it. Standing just over six foot his broad shoulders and narrow hips suggested that at over sixty years of age he was still in good physical shape. He wore a hand tailored dark blue, two piece suit complemented by a white cotton shirt and a brightly coloured patterned silk tie. His black leather shoes shone is if straight off the parade ground. He had kept his military style buzz cut hair, his face had the tanned appearance of someone who lived in a warm sunny climate.
