Chapter 5
Alec's eyesnarrowed as he watched Eva laugh with Jasper across the room. He couldn't believe she had moved on so quickly. He felt a pang of jealousy and anger, and he knew he had to confront her.
He made his way through the crowded room, his eyes fixed on Eva. When he finally reached her side, he touched her arm, his fingers brushing against her skin.
"Can I talk to you for a minute?" Alec asked, his voice low and urgent.
Eva raised an eyebrow, but she nodded and followed Alec to a quiet corner of the room.
"What is going on, Alec?" Eva asked, her voice neutral.
Alec's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze intense. "I want to know what is going on with you and Jasper," he said, his voice low and demanding.
Eva shrugged, her expression indifferent. "And how exactly is that your business if I may ask?"
Alec's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched. "Eva there is no need to prove your stubbornness. Just answer the damn question!."
Eva's expression didn't change, but Alec saw a flicker of something in her eyes. He wasn't sure what it was, but it made him even more suspicious.
"What are you trying to prove, Alec?" Eva asked, her voice still neutral.
Alec's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze burning with intensity. "I am trying to prove that you still have feelings for me," he said, his voice low and husky.
Eva's expression didn't change, but Alec saw a faint blush rise to her cheeks. He knew he had hit a nerve.
"I do not know what you're talking about, Alec," Eva said, her voice still neutral.
Alec's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched. "Do not play games with me, Eva. I know you too well."
Eva's expression finally changed, her eyes flashing with anger. "You do not know me at all, Alec. You never did."
Alec's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze burning with intensity. "I know you better than you think, Eva. And I know you're not over me."
Eva's eyes flashed with anger again, but Alec saw something else in her eyes, something that made him even more suspicious. He was not sure what it was, but he was determined to find out.
Alec's eyes locked onto Eva's, his gaze burning with intensity. "I know you're not over me," he repeated, his voice low and husky.
Eva's eyes flashed with anger again, but Alec saw something else in her eyes, something that made him even more suspicious. "You are delusional, Alec," she spat, her voice venomous.
Alec's jaw clenched, his eyes narrowing. "I am not delusional, Eva. I know what I saw. I saw the way you looked at me, the way you reacted when I touched you."
Eva's face went white, her eyes wide with shock. "You are crazy, Alec," she whispered.
Alec's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze burning with intensity. "I am not crazy, Eva. I'm just telling the truth. You still have feelings for me."
"Even if I did, which I don't, it wouldn't matter because I am now with Jasper."
Alec's jaw clenched, his eyes narrowing. "You are not in love with him! You are only doing this to get under my skin." he spat, his voice venomous.
Eva's face went white, her eyes wide with shock. "How dare you," she whispered.
Alec's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze burning with intensity. "I dare because I know the truth. You are not in love with Jasper. You are still in love with me."
Alec's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze burning with intensity. "Tell me the truth, Eva," he whispered. "Tell me you're still in love with me."
“I am not in love with you Alec! I was, but now I'm over you after you left me without any explanation!” Eva replied angrily
Just as Alec was about to say something else, Jasper walked into the room, his eyes scanning the space until they landed on Eva. A slow smile spread across his face as he made his way over to her.
"Hey, beautiful," Jasper said, his voice low and husky, as he wrapped his arms around Eva's waist.
Eva smiled up at him, her eyes sparkling with amusement, as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "What took you so long?" he asked, his voice teasing.
Eva chuckled, her eyes never leaving Jasper's face. "We were just bringing our discussion to an end," she said, her voice low. "But we can leave now."
As Jasper pulled Eva close, Alec's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched. He didn't like the way Jasper was touching Eva, didn't like the way he was looking at her.
Jasper seemed to sense Alec's unease, and a slow smile spread across his face. "Hey, Alec," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "How's it going?"
Alec's eyes flashed with anger, but he did not say anything. He just stood there, his jaw clenched, as Jasper taunted him.
Jasper, meanwhile, was enjoying every moment of this. He loved taunting Alec, loved pushing his buttons. And he especially loved marking his territory, making it clear to Alec that Eva was his.
As Jasper pulled Eva closer, Alec's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched. He knew he was beaten, knew that Eva was lost to him. And it killed him.
But Jasper just smiled, his eyes never leaving Eva's face. He knew he had won, knew that Eva was his. And he was going to make sure that Alec knew it too.
Jasper leaned in, his lips brushing against Eva's ear. "You're mine," he whispered, his voice low and husky.
Eva shivered, her eyes closing as she leaned into Jasper's touch. Alec's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched, as he watched the two of them together.
He knew he had lost Eva, knew that she was gone. And it killed him.
Eva was loving every moment of this but she was confused if Jasper was playing along or he meant his actions and words. She started developing feelin
gs she could not control towards Jasper.
Jasper on the other hand knew he meant everything.
