Alina's pov
Coming back to life…I made a few small changes to distract my destiny from dragging me towards death.
Firstly, Mr. Cross was supposed to come back to Silver Falls the day of my death, but because of our deal he came back way before than the actual time. Secondly, it was my deal with Mr. Cross that was going to save me from the clutches of Kian Cruz and his f*cked up family. Thirdly, For the first time ever my mouth talked back to Safrina Cruz, the greatest evil alive.
Now it was time for the biggest change!!
The garden…shrouded with pink flower trees and a white wooden bench in front of the pond. Right next to it was the same huge fountain that swallowed me at the time of my death.
The grass was wet, but trimmed.
My eyes glanced at the balcony above the fountain…the same balcony from where I was pushed off.
Thanks to Mr.Cross my new room was downstairs or it would have been another trauma to survive in that room where I was murdered in my previous life.
My anxious feet were waiting for him.
Ten minutes later, he showed up.
Kian Cruz, my nightmare!!
He was wearing the same black shirt that he wore in my previous life on our first tragic meeting. His hazel eyes scanned my body over my white silk dress. It was only now that I realized his gaze was always suspicious.
In the Cruz family either they had green eyes or blue eyes as if it was a signature mark of their blood relations.
Mr. Cross had pure green eyes like dazzling forest…his were perfect, compared to others.
Why was I even thinking about him???
Right!!
His thumb that brushed my upper lip last night was still making my blood rush in veins, not rage, but curiosity.
I was scared, scared that my curiosity will soon turn into fantasy.
That man already left quite a strong impact on me because of his goddamn looks…not to mention his sexy voice and the way he looks at me as if he owns every inch of mine in his possession.
Was I being delusional???
“Nice to meet you, Alina.” Kian smiled.
His deep voice pulled me out of Mr.Cross’ wildest thoughts.
“Nice to meet you, too!” There was no smile on my lips, and even my tone was stiff, rude to be precise.
“Mom did say you were beautiful, she was actually right.” The same line…he used it again…can't believe I fell for that in my previous life.
Cringe it was now!!
*Sigh
“Kian”
“I believe I should cut to the point and not give you hopes.”
“Hopes?” He twitched a brow.
“I am not ready for marriage yet.” Words slipped out of my tongue and the smile slowly faded away from his mouth.
“Why is that?”
“Some personal reasons!”
He nodded his head.
I couldn't figure out the meaning behind his obedient nod…did he accept my rejection???
He lowered his gaze to the green wet grass for a few seconds, and lifted his gaze back up to my confused face.
“As you wish, Ali”
F*ck!!
He called me Ali…a nickname?? Really??
I changed one more thing!!
Kian Cruz f*cking gave me a nickname!!
In my previous life…it was always Alina.
My soul was uncomfortable around him, he was making me feel sick to the core.
I didn't say anything more and anxiously walked out of his cruel gaze. He wasn't someone to take rejections easily, but he did for some reason.
.
.
.
My feet stepped into my room and I tugged in my bed, between two soft pillows. My mind was so f*cking lost that I even forgot to lock the door.
Only a psychopath would leave the door unlocked in the very house they were murdered before!!
Sleep soon burdened my eyes…only to free them again with a crack noise.
My eyes wide opened!!
The room was dark, only the strong moonlight exactly the shape of my window was painted on the floor.
*Gulp
I got out of the bed, slowly approached the switchboard next to the door, and turned on the lights.
It was a huge relief.
My ears were sure they heard something, but exactly what?? My question was soon answered when my gaze noticed the muddy footprints on the floor.
Someone was in my bedroom!!
Shivers chill down my spine!!
“What the hell?”
Death was already dancing in my head and now someone was secretly peeking at me while I was asleep.
Wow! Just wow!
I couldn't sleep the whole night and perched on my bed with the night lamp gripped tightly in my hands.
***
The next morning…
My eyes were dipped in dark circles and just when I thought of taking a quick nap, someone knocked at my door.
In the daylight…the fear was less!!
I slowly opened the door and his green eyes met with mine. His one hand was in his pants' pocket, whereas his other hand was leaning against the thin wall attached to the door.
“Good morning, Mr.Cross!”
He tilted his head…
“Do you wish to die?”
*Hiccup
“Huh? What?” My eyes widened.
He stepped inside, unwelcomed.
My feet started taking steps back and his steps were following mine on the floor rhythmically. Our eyes were locked, his gaze was charming, yet scary.
What did I f*cking do to offend him??
The back of my toe hit the red wall behind…and it was the end of my little escape from him.
He came closer, closer, and closer.
The distance between our bodies was now mere inches!!
As if I wasn't already scared enough…his right hand took out his f*cking silver gun from his waist and pressed the gun’s tip against my forehead.
“Mr.Cro-ss?” My voice cracked.
He brushed down that gun from my forehead to press against my lips.
“Open your mouth!” His deep voice commanded.
*Gulp
I quickly followed.
The tip of his gun slid inside my mouth and scared me to the bones.
“Alina Ortiz!”
My name rolled down his sexy tongue.
