TRUE BEAUTY****EPISODE 5****THE ENCOUNTER

JASMINE'S POV

When Jasmine got home she sat down on her bed staring at one of the pictures she took with her new found friends. She couldn't help but giggle, it was all she ever wanted. Her phone beeped and it was messages from Michelle and Jane. They added her to their group chat. Jasmine was beyond happy.

Jasmine: Wow!! Is this what they call group chat? She asked herself, feeling excited. I'm in a group chat now!!!

Jane:Did everyone get home safe??

Jasmine: Yes, what about Michelle?

Jane: Michelle doesn't keep up with the messages.

Jasmine: I see…. By the way,I made Newstagram. My handle is Jasmine 001

Jane: Awesome. Following you right now. These are photos from today. Keep the ones you like (send photos) Jasmine smiled.

While Jasmine was enjoying her chat with her friend,her brother David was taking photos of her.

Jasmine: What are you doing?

David: You are my sister,but I have to say this. You're really ugly.

Jasmine:What did you say??

David: Everyone's calling you a goddess. Maybe I should share this picture…

Jasmine: Delete that picture at once!! (David runs off and she follows him) Come here!!

David: Take it if you can.

Jasmine: Delete it! Delete it! I mean it,you punk(still running after him) I'll get you! I'll get you!!

Jasmine didn't feel sad when her brother called her ugly because she was used to being called ugly by him.

David: (finally sits down) What's the matter? It's the real you.

Jasmine: What is it you want?

David: The latest volume of “Horror”

Jasmine: Then you will delete it?

David: We'll see about that.

Jasmine: (laughs) I could break your wrists you know that right?

David: Which one should i upload to the anonymous forum(points at the picture)

Jasmine: Don't!! I'll double your deal. How about the new volume and a cup of noodles?

David: Deal.

David was trying to do what Jasmine had always feared. Posting her bare face for her new school to see. So she headed to the comic shop to get the book for David.

Jasmine:Whoah! This place hasn't changed a bit. I wonder if the owner is still the same (enters) it still has the same vibe..

Seller: Welcome

Jasmine: Hello sir. You're still here!!

Seller: Who are…..

Jasmine: Don't you remember me? It's me

Seller: Jasmine!!

Jasmine: Yes sir.

Seller: You are back. I heard Mrs Johnson was moving back. How long has it been??

Jasmine: About 9 years now

Seller: Gosh,has it been that long? That little kid has grown up and you're still….

Jasmine:Ugly. (Jasmine said,accepting her fate)

Seller: No. You are still as cute as ever.(Jasmine smiled and began to move around)

5 mins later

Jasmine:Where is it? I found it. Jasmine tries to take it but someone took it before her hands got there

Jasmine:I got here first.

Alexander: I picked it out first. (While they were dragging the book Alex hit his leg on a chair and they both fell to the ground Jasmine on top of Alex.

Jasmine:(looks at him) Alexander!

Alex: You're….

Jasmine: I'm busted she thought

Apparently Jasmine went to the comic shop without putting on makeup

Alex pushes her off him..

Jasmine: I'm sorry.(Turns to leave)

Alex:Hey

Jasmine:Huh, did he recognise me? Jasmine thought scared.

Alex:That book,I grabbed it first okay?

Jasmine: (without turning back) then you can go ahead and read it first. Here (hands the book to Alex and tries to run)

Seller:(Walks in) Jasmine, have some instant noodles.

Jasmine:Sirr,I didn't order one.

Seller: It's on me, to celebrate our reunion.

Jasmine: I'll have it next time.(Tries to leave again)

Seller: Hold on. I put in an organic egg just for you. It's 10 dollars per egg. I'd be upset if you didn't eat it.

Jasmine: Can't you just have it instead she said frustrated

Seller: I'm on a diet(hands it over to her and walks out)

Jasmine:(sighs deeply) Okay,let's devour this and go.

Alex comes to sit beside her and she panics, taking a bottle of soda and gulping it down her throat.

Alex: That belongs to me. (Pointing at the soda she drank)

Jasmine: I'm sorry. You must like red soda juice. I'll get you a new one. She said, hiding her face behind her hair.

Alex: That's alright. (Hands the book to Jasmine)Read it if you'd like to.

Jasmine: No, there's no need for that.

Alex: Didn't you just launch yourself at me to get it? Go on,read it.

Jasmine: I guess he didn't recognise me, she thought to herself. Do you live around here? I mean, I'm not trying to pry, but with your look, you're quite the eye-catcher but i don't think I've seen you around here she said.

Alex: If that's true,then I must not live around here.

Jasmine: Right… Why crawl all the way here then she muttered.

Alex:(hears her)Crawl? I started walking upright when I was 11 months old.

Jasmine: So you did?

Alex: I'm 18, you're probably my age. Your formality irks me. How old are you?

Jasmine: I'm 15. I'm an 8th grader. She lied

Alex: I don't buy that you are younger than me. Ma'am

Jasmine: I was just joking. I'm 25,way older than you. She lied again

Alex: (looks at her) so you're also 18

Jasmine: No wonder he's a top student, she thought.(Drinks the soup) Gosh I'm so full. This was interesting (drops the book) Here you go. Enjoy

Alex: So soon?

Jasmine: I read very fast

Alex: I meant this(points at the food)

Jasmine:(sighs) Goodbye then. (Leaves) What am I wearing? Why did I have to run into him right then and there? She said outside the comic shop.

JASMINE'S Home

David:(sees Jasmine come in) Hey, what's with your attitude? Where's my book?

Jasmine: I don't know. It's all because of you.( Kicks David)

David:(groans) What? Did you run into a handsome guy from class without wearing makeup? Then again,your life's not a TV show. I doubt that would happen.(Look at her again)Seriously? Your life as a goddess is over even if I don't share your picture!

Jasmine: That's not it. He didn't recognise me.

David: He might not today,but when he sees you tomorrow he will say “Aren't you the acne girl from the comic shop?” That could happen.

Jasmine: What? Really? Do you think so? Then what do I do?

David: That's why you have to be honest. Jasmine,you are cunning people. Just show them who you are. You can't hide your true face forever.

Jasmine:Hey David

David: What?

Jasmine: You know that girl you have a thing with?

David: Yes. What about her?

Jasmine: She's super pretty. Her face without makeup won't be different from mine.(Jasmine laughs and runs off)

David: No way!! Even her breath is fragrant!

Alex's pov

It turns out that apart from being Jasmine's classmate,Alex was the stranger from the beginning. He was the one who carried Jasmine down when she attempted to jump off the rooftop

Alex:How did I run into her here? But how can she ignore me after all I did for her?

Seller: (walks in) Wow, Jasmine didn't remain a single drop. He said referring to the noodles

Alex:Her name is Jasmine?

Seller: You don't know Elena's daughter Jasmine? You've been a patron for a while. You haven't seen her before?(Smiles) Why are you interested?

Alex: No.
