Chapter 03. Alli

408 Words
"I gotta be honest," I admit, "car hunting isn't as cool as it sounds." "It's been over two hours, we are looking for the perfect car to grab, I grumble, "but nothing came up. Folks are really lazy and mostly stay home on weekdays." "Man, if tonight were the weekend," I say to Advait and Tim, my two most loyal comrades, "we'd be scoring near those nightclubs where the rich crowd's regularly visited." Stealing fancy cars isn't a movie scene anymore, no lock tricks, no busting in, and no hot wiring to start the ignition. Right now, for me the car jacking is way simpler than you think. But, it took me good amount of time, patience and research and I finally developed this electronic gadget. This electronic gadget picks up the signal from the car key remote and sends it to the car's internal locking system. This way, I can unlock and start the car and take off without the owner knowing. But there's still a catch: this gadget only works when the car key remote is in close proximity. Stealing fancy cars needs patience and fast moves. Page 23.1 of 356 I'm positioned in the backseat of my Audi Q8, peeping out the window while we cruise the streets, on the lookout for any possibility of car jacking. I let out a sigh. "Perhaps it's time to wrap up for the night." Out of nowhere, a big noisy rumble shakes things up from the front passenger's seat. A soft chuckle escapes Tim's lips. "Forgive me, I'm starving. Haven't touched food since lunch." Darn it. My team's stomachs are growling because I didn't think to get them food while I was busy with that negotiation. I'm not turning into a terrible boss, and I can't let my crew go without a meal. "Hey, how about pulling over at Bertonsons just down the road and grabbing a bite to eat? It's on me. After that, we can wrap up for the night." Advait and Tim are like my right-hand folks, and they deserve some extra treats once in a while. Tim gives a nod, showing his gratitude. "Appreciate it, chief." When things get tough, Tim is the one I trust. His mere presence tends to make others go the other way. But beneath that tough exterior, he's a comedian who enjoys making people laugh. He's the life of the party, always keeping us entertained. Page 23.2 of 356
