To love because to be loved
“I have healed her wounds, Mrs Lavelle Blanc. You don't have to worry, if the medicine I inject into his body is working properly Mr. Theophile will soon wake up,” said Doctor Esther when she saw Lavelle who looked so worried waiting at the door—her lips looked so pale without any makeup, while the two wrists were wrapped in thick gauze.
“But he’s okay, right?” Lavelle asked again.
“He’s getting better, just wish your husband the best. He will definitely recover soon,” Doctor Esther replied.
“May I take a look inside?” asked Lavelle for the umpteenth time.
Doctor Esther sighed then shook her head slightly slowly, “Maybe for today you haven’t been able to visit him inside, he still needs to regenerate new cells in his body but, you can visit him tomorrow morning.”
“So uhm....”
“That was the best option, and thank you very much Doctor Esther. You’ve helped us well,” Johnny interrupted Lavelle’s words.
“With pleasure, Mr. Johnny. This is my dedication to your family,” Doctor Esther replied, “I think that’s enough for Mr. Theophile’s examination today, may I see Doctor Charlotte now?”
“Go ahead, Doc. He is in the refugee center because he still has to give ingredients one by one to the other Neo Green Peace residents,” replied Johnny.
Doctor Esther nodded then immediately left Lavelle and Johnny with a faint smile, Johnny glanced at Lavelle whose eyes were still teary—feeling a little sorry for the girl but, he also couldn’t do anything because he wasn’t a Doctor, He took a majoring in civil engineering while in college.
“Listen to me, I don’t want you to keep crying and crying. You better rest now,” said Johnny.
“I still want to be with him,” Lavelle replied quietly.
Once again Johnny took a deep breath. “You’re too overprotective, don’t be like that. You need rest too, Lavelle.”
“I’m just worried about ...”
“You need to rest, you need time for the drug to immediately repair the cells in your body that are almost or have been invaded by poison,” Johnny said once again.
“I’m not sleepy yet, can you let me in there?” asked Lavelle with a sad face.
Tristan, who heard a commotion at Theophile’s door, approached the two of them to find out why they were making such a fuss there.
“Lavelle, should’'t you be resting in your room? I’ve told Jessica to prepare another room for them, you should rest,” said Tristan.
Lavelle still insisted on seeing Theophile but, Johnny and Tristan wouldn’t let that happen because if Lavelle entered it would make Theophile’s adrenaline rise and prevent the medicine that Doctor Esther had injected quickly. Tristan patted Lavelle's shoulder very gently.
“Lavelle, listen to what I have to say. Don’t be selfish with yourself, rest,” said Tristan.
And Lavelle just nodded, then walked away from the two of them. A glance from Tristan was able to make Lavelle melt but, actually Tristan really had to make up his heart which always felt bad for acting presumptuously without Theophile's orders but, that was also what he did to keep the two of them recovering quickly.

A bowl of chicken soup with a very distinctive aroma of spices wafts into Lavelle’s sense of smell, a warm drink with herbal extracts is also available on the nightstand. Lavelle woke up and realized that Christelle was sitting next to her while applying a body lotion that Lavelle liked.
“Mom?”
“I cooked your favorite chicken soup, Lavelle. However, I did not add oregano oil to it because there is no oil here,” said Christelle.
“Mom… Did I do something wrong?” asked Lavelle so softly it was barely audible.
“What do you mean, Lavelle?” asked Christelle later, “Are you still feeling very dizzy?”
Lavelle shook her head but, she took Christelle’s hand then took a deep breath. “I was so scared when Mommy found out everything.”
“Why are you scared?” asked Christelle.
“Because Theophile and I are different,” Lavelle replied.
Christelle took a deep breath then looked back at Lavelle’s face which was already very pale. “Do you think it was a mistake?”
“I think it’s a mistake but, can I love because I’m loved, Mom? Theophile loves me, should I hurt him any longer? I’m almost going crazy from thinking too much about this relationship and I don’t know, Mom.” Lavelle answered with teary eyes. “It’s all like a nightmares.”
“As long as you love because you are loved it should make you believe in that honesty, Lavelle,” said Christelle.
“I have a lot of fears about it, Mom.”
Christelle took a deep breath then stroked the top of Lavelle’s head very gently, inserting an understanding smile for Lavelle who was still recovering, inserting a typical love of a mother who loves her youngest daughter so much.
“You have to understand that whatever the obstacle is love is something completely honest,” Christelle murmured, “Love is everything, isn’t it?”
“Mom, how is Theophile? Can I see him already?” asked Lavelle for the umpteenth time.
“Lavelle, first eat the soup I made for you so that you are full and get well soon. You look so pale you might even look like an undead now, Theo is fine you have to believe it for the sake of the baby in your tummy,” Christelle replied quickly.
Lavelle sighed, feeling very broken when she heard Christelle’s words, she was afraid of a harsh reality that might happen later, she didn’t know she just wanted to visit Theophile but, everyone tried to hold her in. She rubbed her stomach with trembling hands.
“Everything will be fine, you don’t have to worry.” Christelle whispered to Lavelle.
“Mom, please tell me... am I a normal girl?” asked Lavelle.
“You are a normal girl, dear. You are not as strange as you think ... all things must be passed with patience,” Christelle replied later.
Without waiting any longer, Christelle immediately took the bowl and flashed her signature smile. He filled the spoon with a few pieces of chicken that he had seasoned with natural spices, then handed it to Lavelle.
“Come on, eat this soup while it’s still warm. I know you must really miss this dish.”
