A Surprising Good News   It was quite early in the morning, even before the sun rose on the eastern horizon when Christelle and Johnny got out of the luxurious limousine that had a shiny body, Christelle feeling a little confident took a deep breath and then let it out slowly, she stared at the classic-style house with a look that hard to interpret.   “Mom, are you feeling okay?” then Johnny asked.   “Yes im fine. You don’t have to come inside because I’m only going to be in there for a while.” Christelle took a deep breath a second time.   “Okay, I’ll wait here. Maybe while ordering a cup of coffee at the cafe,” replied Johnny, nodding and then pointing at a small cafe in front of Christelle’s house with his index finger.   Christelle nodded in understanding then immediately entered her house with wide strides, she really felt so embarrassed and couldn’t contain her rage that was so passionate—an anger that she had been holding back for a dozen years, silent, trapped in an endless maze. that always made her feel so weak for love.   She really felt so naive all this time, she loved Martian so sincerely even Christelle didn’t want to say the meaning of the word farewell to their marriage but, everything was enough even more than enough. The two of them were better off separating and thinking about each other’s lives without troubling each other’s lives.   “Oh, you’re back apparently,” said Martian very sarcastically.   “Yes, I’m home. And I want to talk to you,” Christelle replied.   “Where’s that damn kid?” Martian hissed.   “Shut your mouth, Martian. Here the damn thing is yourself,” said Christelle.   “What do you mean? How dare you say that, Christelle,” said Martian very rudely.   “Yeah, I dare say that after you totally ruined my life, you ruined everything! From end to end you made me feel like I was living in a hell, and just so you know… Lavelle was traumatized quite a bit because of you!”   Her emotions were already unstoppable at that time, her index finger pointed at Martian with the occasional shaking of holding back the pain. She was shattered with thousands of memories that might be like a mere fantasy, a bitter reality that he had hidden for a dozen years he opened one by one. After such a huge sacrifice, she realized that Martian was just playing with her.   “You’re a bad person!” cried Christelle.   “Damn it! Who do you think you are, how dare you mold me like that!” Martian replied, about to stand up but, because his broken leg couldn’t stabilize anymore he fell down in front of Christelle.   “I always try to cover up your mistakes, I want us to live better but, you never feel ashamed of yourself at all,” Christelle mumbled.   “Damn it, shut your mouth!” snorted Martian.   “I’ve kept my mouth shut all this time, Martian. I’ve always been silent but, you never even felt that I was very precious to your life!” Christelle snapped, “You ruined my life, the lives of your two daughters. Are you dissatisfied? How many hundred million dollars can’t even make up for everything!”   “Bastard! What do you mean?”   Without waiting any longer, Christelle took off a wedding ring on her ring finger, very annoyed she threw the ring in Martian’s face. “I want a divorce.”   ***   “Did I hear right, Mom? Lavelle dares to make the decision to marry?” Liza asked with a bit of surprise. “She’s pregnant?”   “Yeah, I think it’s all thanks to Theo’s hard work who always makes her believe that not all men are bastards like Martian. I know that Theo is the right man for Lavelle.”   “I’m so happy to hear that so, what day is the wedding?” Liza asked then.   “Maybe next Monday, they have prepared some beautiful dresses. And maybe Theophile is already planning a party of seven days and seven nights,” said Christelle.   “I’m curious about that,” said Liza.   “Which matter?” Christelle replied by raising one of her eyebrows.   “Mom, you know that… I don’t know… I was just afraid that if Lavelle had—”   “I can promise, if he dares to make Lavelle in pain I will go punish him,” Johnny interrupted immediately.   “OK I believe. However, I can’t just believe it because I have a little worry that I can’t explain,” said Liza then as she handed me two cups of hot tea.   “Now you have to go visit her as a bridesmaid too,” Christelle muttered, “I hope you like the show too.”   “Of course I would like it because this is such an important and big event,” Liza muttered.   “You can take your child there,” Christelle replied.   Liza nodded then glanced at Dhizael who was busy watching television in the living room which was only separated by a partition made of frosted glass. Liza took a deep breath then looked back at Christelle who was almost crying happily.   “Are you sure you’re going to divorce Martian?” Liza asked.   “I’ve thought long enough after what Lavelle went through, the impact was so great it was even terrifying. I can’t stand still and I have to do this quickly,” Christelle muttered thoughtfully.   “Are you really sure?” Liza asked.   “I'm certain.”   “So where are you going to stay for a while?” Liza asked for the umpteenth time.   “I can stay at your grandma’s place for a while until I get some income. You understand that I really like work, I will not give up and maybe for some time I will build a place of business,” replied Christelle.   Liza nodded. “Well, I understand. But, what if Martian tried again? Their families would definitely think so badly of you, Mom.”   “I can vouch for that too,” Johnny said quickly.   “Guarantee in what way?” Liza asked.   “If Martian comes back in your life that means he will also annoy Lavelle and I won’t let that,” Johnny replied, “That annoying man should be given a proper punishment.”   “That’s right, I would really regret it if one day Martian came back and demanded a compensation,” said Liza.   “That won’t be possible because if he comes and demands compensation I can charge him with domestic violence.”
