The morning started off like any other. Well, as "normal" as it could get when you were engaged to your boss because of a drunken proposal gone wrong. I groaned, slapping at my nightstand until I hit snooze, only to remember halfway through my stretch that snooze would only grant me another ten minutes. Great. Ten minutes to lie here and pretend my life wasn’t unraveling. When the alarm blared again, I swung my legs over the edge of the bed, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. Another day. Another round of awkward stares at work, awkward emails from Mr. Hale, and the awkward realization that I was engaged—to my boss. “What the hell,” I mumbled to myself, padding into the bathroom. ~ By the time I arrived at the office building, I had given myself a pep talk worthy of a motivational speaker
