My heart began to pound with a whole new surge of emotions. I may not have known what I was waiting for, but I certainly knew now. The exit was open- this nightmare could be over. I wouldn’t have to see another death, risk another second of my life…if I could just get to the door. Everyone else in the arena heard that announcement, the tiny voice in my head reminded me. I knew that the killers were aware of the change in the arena. They would probably make an effort to surround the only way out, just as they had done in the footage that I had viewed of the previous rounds.
