THIRD PERSON’S POINT OF VIEW
The deafening sound of a microphone made everyone pause with their necessities and glanced upward the stage inside the massive gymnasium.
Awhile ago, five minutes before their class proper start an immediate announcement made from door-to-door by the student council was made, telling all of the Noxtonians to proceed at the gymnasium for some very important announcement to make. At first, they were all addled of what was going on but a small gossip started to wander before even the announcement was made.
“Good day, Noxtonians! We have an important announcement to make.” A man in his formal attire spoke. His eyes is bright as the morning sun. “As we all know, our Noxton University was born dated 1900's and was known as the oldest yet prestigious University in the world! That's to say, the birthday of our school will be next week on October 20 and apparently, the board of directors will be organizing a festival for all of us! Are you all ready?!”
The crowd of students hailed their dismay. Who wouldn't be? Noxton's birthday will be only celebrated with their usual festival and Noxtonians were used to it. They all expected something grand and innovative kind of festival since they will be celebrating the 120th founding anniversary of the school.
Noxton University was born during the 19th century where the rapid increase of scientific ideas and inventions. They was told that the Noxton brothers founded the school in honor to their mother who was their teacher and was frustrated teacher. The three brothers were known as mysterious as no one ever know their names but genius because of their exemplary contributions in building the Noxton University. Other than the first University director, no one has ever seen their face. It was like they were hiding in the dark. And as many as thought, this school is known because it is innovative and the diverse-effective way of teaching attracts the student but what no one knows is that this is a place of full of mystery and secrets.
“Nothing new! I'm tired with their usual stupid fair." Visible annoyance was heard on the mouth of a girl with a dark hair. The person beside her peeked at her wondering who she was talking to but her eyes settled only in front. The girl pushed her glasses upward and seems not to care if somebody might think she was crazy for talking to herself. She just want to be vocal with her annoyance in this so-called birthday but her irk was annihilated when her not-really blurry eyes spotted the figure of a girl standing so gracefully and patiently listening to the man speaking. Her back is flawless as she is. Of all people surrounding them, she stand out and any aware like her will be able to sense the flowing magic in her but something is missing. It‘s her scent. She has no scent like every Enchantors have.
The girl’s eyes twinkled as she come to recognized the girl. It’s her saviour! How could she forget her feisty aura that day? The only woman who stood up for her and the only reason why her curiosity is alive.
Isana slightly lift her right foot as she felt numbness creeping over her lower body. She had been standing there for almost an half an hour as she interestedly listen to the announcement. She wondered why the other students growl at the said announcement when in fact it's giving her excitement. If not so, this will be the first grand event she’ll be able to experience in her stay here at Noxton.
Her lips protruded as she roam her eyes around the gym, looking for a sign of Andrea's presence but she found the other way around. She noticed the girl with a roundglasses looking at her then waved like they‘re some kind of acquintance. But she only flash her with a small smile.
‘She was the girl who got bullied by Marie's bitchy group,’ Isana thought.
Isana’s mouth gaped when she thought that after a quick gesture, the girl will turn her gaze on the other side but to her surprise the bullied girl ran towards her direction. Her brows shot up.
‘Does she need something from me?’ Isana asked herself.
“Hi!” the girl greeted with a warm smile.
“Hey," she only replied.
The girl extended her arm for an expectation of handshake. “My name is Darling, Isana.”
Isana made a questionable look. She doesn’t know how to react.
“Y-you know me?” Darling smirked giving Isana the mysterious feeling.
“Everyone knows you, Isana,” she shot back in a serious manner. Isana is confounded on the way Darling shifted her aura but she mentally shrugged. Maybe Darling is as weird as she thought.
“You're alone?" Darling started the conversation.
“Obviously," she responded.
Her mind is asking her why Darling would approach her but her gut feeling is telling her that she is no ordinary. And now, she couldn't perplex why it seems like she's being surrounded with outlandish people. She rolled her eyes as she reminded of what happened to a few days ago in Liberth's office. That strange professor.
“Don't you have friends?” Another question popped on Darling's mouth.
Isana smiled, “I do. I just don't know where she is right now.”
“What's her name?” Darling's curious voice spoken.
“Andrea Cruz.”
“Hmm.” Darling twirled her hair. “Do you believe in fantasy, Isana?"
She wanted to laugh for some unknown reason but she dared not to. She doesn't know why she suddenly find her amusing. And she feel a rush of emotions inside her but she did not entertained. After the past few weeks of full of bizarre events, she no longer know what is real and what is fiction.
Darling waited for her response as she carefully watch her expression.
Isana released a sigh, “No, only brainless would believe that kind of joke.” Darling almost choked with her statement. She could not believe she's hearing Isana's choice of words. Isana isn't the type who doubt what she see but why does she feel she's lying. Does she even know-
“Isana Louisse!”
Both women turned their head on the other side as a familiar voice shouted Isana's name. Some students even looked at their side as if they're following what this will lead.
“You know him?"
She took a quick glance at her, “Yeah. That's Jasper.”
“Oh. Your suitor?” Darling raised her brow as she watch the guy came closer to them. The man smiled to her but she only frowned. Instead she examined the guy named Jasper. He has a bright smile and handsome face and it's very obvious that he likes Isana but above all, he is an ordinary human. Jasper is nothing compared to her chicken.
“What's up, Jasper." Isana greeted him in an uninteresting tone.
It's very obvious that she is not into him but Jasper was like a blind and a deaf guy who doesn't know how to accept the truth. He keeps on bugging her and very vocal about his feelings towards the girl and he's been obsessed about it.
“Can you be my date?” He asked directly as his eyes is full of hope and Isana only looked at her.
“Pardon?” Isana got confused. What date?
Darling sensed the confusion on Isana’s expression while Jasper's smile faded.
‘Oh, look who’s disappointed here.’ Darling's mind yelled but instead of speaking it out, a brighter yet mischevous idea entered.
The two shifted their eyes when Darling cleared her throat. “There will be a ball at night as part of the celebration and all of us are expected to come.” She explained as Isana nodded her head as she now understands why Jasper is asking her to his date.
Jasper butt in, “Right, that's why I would like to ask if you can come with me.”
Isana don't know how if she should reject Jasper or not. If she would accept the invitation then it will give Jasper a false hope of love but if she turns him down she will hurt his pride and she’s sure the guy won't slip it down. She blew out a breathe of frustration.
“Well-”
“She can't come, someone already asked her to be his date.” Darling cut her off.
Her eyes widen in shock as her eyes question Darling’s words but the woman only gave her an assuring smile. Meanwhile, Jasper's fist turn into ball as jealousy slowing filling into his system. He won't let anyone take Isana as his date unless it’s him!
“Whose the guy?” his cold voice made Isana stopped as she meet his burning gaze. She bit her lower lip because she doesn't know what to answer. Because who would she say? No one really asked her to someone‘s date.
“Who was it, Isana?” Jasper's voice became stern that made Isana gulped. She has never seen him like this. Is he that serious?
Before she could even open her mouth to speak someone already did.
“I am her date, Mr. Aquino.”
They all look at him like he was a god sent from above. His intimidating aura mixed with his oozling handsome face made him dazzling. For Isana, his beauty is beyond incomparable. She held her chest as her heart beats so fast and her cheeks flustered. The man winked at her and the butterflies in her stomach gone wilder. If they're going to ask her what she feel, she'll definitely answer that the strange feeling is wrong but somehow...why does it feel so right?
“Liberth...”
