THIRD PERSON'S POINT OF VIEW
Isana knocked nervously at the front door, without even thinking if there's somebody inside. She just saw herself walking through her neighbor's door and came to knock. Last other day, her mind was bombaded with so much thoughts and she really felt like she was in cloud, and now that it's all over and she is now in sane, Isana needed to talk to him. She needs to clear things out before it becomes a virus that'll spread all over the university. Isana is perpetually confused why Liberth would say such things. Gracious goodness, that man will be the cause of my early death!
Her eyes instantly lit up when she heard a footstep from the inside. She rubbed her palms together to at least ease the tension she is feeling right now. When the door finally half-opened her raging confidence suddenly lost its fire.
“Hey, Isana? Anything for you?” says Daniel who only peeped his face. She is perpetually confused why he is not opening the door completely but she didn't bothered 'cause she has no plans to enter, anyway.
Isana bit her lower lip that made Daniel shift into puzzlement.
“I...uhm...is...err Liberth here?” she mumbled, unable to tell if she said the proper words.
Daniel smiled at her teasingly, “Oh, so our neighbor now is looking for her professor, huh?” Isana felt blood euahing through her cheeks.
“No I mean yes! I have important matter to discuss with him. So, is he there?”
The guy geoaned but not in annoyance instead in adoration of the woman in front of her. She is beautiful and her flushing cheeks but feisty eyes made her more look...hot.
“I'm sorry to pop your bubbles but the one you are looking for is not here,” Isana's face fell more as she’d thought she'll be able to talk to him before she'll gone to work. Daniel saw it straight in her face that made him smirk. He brushed his hair upwards with his other hand on the back of the door.
“Don't worry, I'll tell him once he comes home.”
Isana nodded in slight relief.
“Thanks...” she muttered as she turns her back.
It was all good day in her new part-time. She don't feel like being a waitress in a restaurant is too much tiring, especially when you have somebody new to talk with.
“So, you’re saying you don't have any boyfriend?!” Amanda hysterically yelled as she give her the order slip. Isana shook her head.
“Fling?" she continued.
“None,” Isana expertly answered.
Amanda stun for a seconds before placing the slip on the window through the kitchen. It's not crowded tonight so they have a lot of time to chitchat while waiting for the order.
“But why? You're hella pretty! Why would no one wanted to knock you off?!” she yelled in a controlled tone, afraid that someone might hear their nasty conversation.
She laugh at the woman's remark. “Why not, Amanda? I'm young and romantic relationship is not my thing." That was the most honest word she’d ever said tonight.
She's completely right and that's her numero uno rule in life: No boyfriends not after graduation. She made a promise and intimate relationshit is not what she wants right now. She still have many bills to pay.
“You know, Isana it's not bad to have someone who could support you with your up's and down's. Why don't you give a try? Have some fling to at least lessen your burden!” Amanda cheered her with her comforting words. Isana didn't hitched. No one’s gonna change her mind.
“Combustion is real for the boys out here, girl.” Amanda said it again as she jerk her head towards the table on the left side and so Isana took a glance. Group of all-male and probably college students was all looking at their spot. She examined them and found that they are all five and one of them raised a hand. Amanda gave her an amused look before she took out the slip and ballpen.
“Anything for the guys?" she asked in her professional tone.
“What do you suggest?” A man in his white inner sleeves spoke. He has a brooding eyes that could make any woman wet for it but not me. Definitely not her. Well, he doesn't look like a bad guy nor good.
“We have spaghetti bolognese, chicken cordon-”
“What's your name?" The other guy cut her off with a playful smirked plastered on his face. She heard a whistle surrounded the table that made her grip tight of the ballpen she's holding. What an assholes. They all definitely are a playboy.
Isana mentally rolled my eyes with his question but remained in her professional composture.
“I’m sorry but my name is not on the menu,” Isana sweetly smiled as his face instantly turned into sour.
The other three guys laughed and started to tease him at it but the man with brooding eyes cleared his throat, making them shut.
“We'll have the spaghetti bolognese, medium rare stake and a bottle of red wine.”
Isana repeated again the man's order and they were all just sitting there looking up to her and intently watching her moving lips. She wanted to swallow hard but did not to. These men are testing her patience.
“All in five order?” Isana made sure. The man nodded.
“All in five.”
“Relax and kindly wait patiently, gentlemen!” She beamed as she walk away from them like she never wanted to come back.
She heaved a sigh as soon as she reach the counter and Amanda, who is really free, immediately attended her.
“What's with face, gal? They're all oozling hot!” Amanda intruded her thoughts likenshe somehow knew what she was thinking.
She cracked her knuckles to remove the annoyance filling her body.
“Hookers, Amanda. They are only up for f*****g,” she didn not mind her uncensored words because she is really holding up her anger.
Why in the world did God let these only-know-is-lust men lived? She really hated the feeling like they violated her pride and dignity as a woman with their dirty beings. With the fire engulfing the woman's aura, Amanda decided not to say anything that may add fuel to the fire. She may know Isana just today but she's afraid that there’s a little monster living inside her head.
It was almost 11 in the night when Isana's shift was done and she's all-ready to get home and lay comfortably to her bed. Her back aches and her heels hurt because of the pumps that was required to used in her workplace plus those elite customers who annoyed her the whole time. She badly wanted to give them a punch but she also badly needed money.
Isana stretched her arms but stopped midway when Amanda lightly tapping her shoulder.
“Take care, Isana. We shall see tomorrow.” The woman bid a goodbye together with their other co-workers. As soon she was left alone she minded herself and started to walk towards the other direction.
“We got a long way ahead, darling,” she comforted herself as soon as her feet strutted towards the dark. She felt like someone is staring at her and that ambiance like it happened before came in. She can't remember but the feeling is the same as her gut-feeling speaks.
“Isana...”
“Holy s**t!” she cursed when a male voice speaks her name. The adrenaline rushed through her body as she check on whoever the person followed her here. But her ready-to-punch face turned into horror when she finally saw the man.
“What are you doing here, professor Liberth?” she gasped when the man started walking towards her.
“Just call me Liberth. Liberth.”
The man didn't not answered the first question.
She nodded, “Okay, Liberth. Tell me what are you doing here and how did you know where I was working?”
Liberth intently look into her eyes and swallowed hard.
“I followed you...”
Her eyes widen, “You followed me?! Why?”
She is in hysterical state because she doesn't like what the man just did. Dang, he literally acted like a stalker!
Liberth remained three steps away from the girl.
“Daniel told me you were looking for me and so I looked for you, too.” If this is some kind of drama she'd be touch but hell, no!
“How long you'd been waiting?”
“5 or 6, I'm uncertain." Isana gulped when his voice turns smooth and honest. For hoirs of waiting, Liberth did saw everything happened inside and that the thousand times he calmed himself not to smack the heads of those guys trying to pull Isana.
Her eyes didn't leave her, “You shouldn't have done that. Anyway, since you're here I'd like you to call off that date thing. I won't come so I won't be your date.”
The man's face darkened.
“No,” he replied in a cold tone. Isana wanted to shiver with that but she remained calm and meet his burning gaze.
“Why not? Look, it is not good for us! You're a teacher and I am your student, that is not good to combine!” she tried to explain but Liberth disapproved. Isana's frustration from earlier got fed up whilst talking to Liberth.
“Let me drive you home.”
“No!” Liberth's fist turned into ball after her immediate reaction. Isana look so exhausted so he understand. The woman is tired.
“I want you to announce that it was just a mistake-”
Liberth instantly hug Isana tightly before she could even finish her words. He felt her stunned but that didn't made him flinch. He remain hugging her tightly and tried to soothe her by gently touching her hair upside-down. She needed a comfort and that is what he is giving to her. When Isana's body remained at rest and cooled down, he kissed the top of her head. He just couldn't take it anymore.
“Breathe, baby. I'm just here. I promise I won't leave you.”
