Nelson put a call through to his friend, Desmond.
“Hey Nelson, What's up?” Desmond greeted
“I am fine o. How are you also?” Nelson asked
“I am good,” Desmond responded
“I'm calling you so we can go to a club tonight so we can chill and discuss," Nelson said
“Bro, I'm sorry. I can't make it. I'm tired” Desmond responded
“Don't let me be mad at you o. I have settled girls who will keep us company when we lodge. Why do you like spoiling my mood when I suggest we go to the club?” Nelson said with disappointment
“I’m not going, guy. I'm very busy. Besides, you know I will never agree to go to a club with you” Desmond said
“So what are you insinuating” Nelson asked
“How about you come over? Just you and I, we can have a drink here in my house” Desmond suggested
“You know staying at home is kind of boring. That's the reason I suggest we go out, so we can have a glimpse of what's happening out there. I just want you to go with me tonight, that's all.” Nelson responded
“Just come around here, please. Let's discuss life here instead of going out. I love it here.” Desmond pleaded
“No problem. I will only tolerate this just tonight. Emphasis on tonight” Nelson agreed
“Thanks,” Desmond said as he laughed
“Please, don't come along with any girl or girls. I sincerely do not have the time for it.” He insisted
“I will call them and tell them not to worry but you will make it up to them next time,” Nelson said
“You know me before now. I don't have the time to waste with any of those girls that only have s*x to offer.” Desmond responded
“You need to know that all work with no play makes Desmond a dull guy,” Nelson said teasingly
They laughed as they ended the call.
“There is nothing I'll be doing at the club other than drinking and then getting distracted by what's happening there. It's purely a waste of time.”
“Life is indeed more than all these funfair. It's just best to have a lady and settle with her rather than fooling around girls and clubbing.”
“I have greater dreams to achieve than to waste my time with some random girls that only have s*x to offer. I just hope Nelson realizes this before it's too late.”
“I would rather remain in my house than be wasting at the club,” Desmond said assuredly to himself.
Nelson arrives at Desmond's residence. He enters, and they exchange pleasantries…..
“Hey guy” he greeted
“What's supping?” Desmond asked
“I'm not supposed to be here discussing with you and you know it. Is this where we supposed to be?” Nelson asked angrily
“Nelson. You know me quite well before now. I'm not interested in clubbing. It's just a waste of time.” Desmond responded
“I can see it's not your fault. I'm the one that brought myself to your house.” Nelson said
“Well, I will continue to tell you what I have always been telling you.” Desmond was saying as Nelson interrupted
“Please, save me all these words. Do you think it is the life you are living? You are just too boring. I don't even understand how we got this far. No clubbing, no fun, no outing. Guy, I can't just relate.” Nelson reacted
“Life is more beautiful when you paint it with bright colors. It's not just about clubbing and going for outings.”
“It's also about investing in one's self, adding more values to your portfolio because learning is a continuous process, helping humanity, people smiling because you are present, and much more.”
“I get it. I know you've been working effortlessly to this point, and you are now a big man. I mean, you are now counting billions, and that's wonderful.”
However, that's not the goal. The goal is to reach out to lives, help the less privileged, support the struggling entrepreneurs to strive in this economy, and even invest your money into something worth it. Desmond responded
“You know what? You should have just told me I've overstayed my welcome. What's all this preaching now?” Nelson reacted
“Do not be angry, bro. Just know that as long as we are still friends, you will continue to hear more of it. So, just chill.” Desmond responded jokingly
“Just go and get wine. I want to cool my head.” Nelson said
“If you know what's good for you, just go and get it. I can't just leave what I'm doing right now for a bottle of wine. Lucky you, Ada is not around. Just help yourself, bro.”
Desmond said as he laughed all along
“Really? You've seen me finish to this extent” Nelson reacted
“Just help us, bro.” Desmond pleaded
“I am here for you. I will pick it up. Just continue burying your head on your laptop.” Nelson said teasingly
“That's the real flexing guy,” Desmond said as they both laughed
“There was a man who came to me to loan him some money to prosper his farm plantation business,” Nelson said as he sipped a cup of wine
“Exactly the point. I'm so happy, bro. You see, that's what you should be doing. I hope you gladly helped him?”
“Gladly helped him ko,” Nelson said mimicking
“Do you want to listen to me, or do you want to be too forward?” Nelson asked
“I am with you now. That's the kind of words I love to hear. That's the first thing you should have said on call, or even when you arrived here.” Desmond responded
“The man was just pleading for help. And you know I don't do things for free.” Nelson said
“Hmm. I don't know the amount he asked for, but I do know you have much more than enough to give to him without noticing that the amount was deducted from your account.” Desmond responded
“Nothing is free in this life. Everything has a price. If he truly wants my help. He should pay the price." Nelson said
"So, what price did you give him o?" Desmond asked
"It’s nothing serious. In his narration, he mentioned the fact that he and his daughter do work on the farm, but it hasn't been yielding due to some factors I don't even care to know.” Nelson said as he sipped his wine
“So,...." Desmond said in anticipation
"I simply asked for his daughter in return for the favor,” Nelson said
“Guy!!!!!! That's what's too bad. Is his daughter a commodity to be bought with money?” Desmond asked in surprise
“Desmond, what's your stress in this affair now?” Nelson asked
“That's the father's question to be answered. After all, he was the one who came for help, and I didn't say I wouldn't help; it only came with a price.” Nelson said
“Guy, I know you too well. It's not as if you love her. There's no point having her since you know you won't treat her kindly. Stop now. It's unfair. You won't do this, bro.” Desmond said in disappointment
“Watch me bring her home. I need a woman to satisfy my urge in my house, don't you think?” Nelson reacted
"Guy, you can get that from anyone, anywhere. Encamping an innocent girl in your house for this purpose is evil. Can't you feel how hurtful it would be for her?” Desmond said heartbreakingly
"I do not care. All this you are saying doesn't even mean anything to me.” Nelson said
"What are we friends for if I can't talk to you? If I don't have a say in your affairs, then why are you here?" Desmond asked
“Guy, we are different. I'm enjoying life. I can even get you a girl, even girls if you want. Let me enjoy life." Nelson replied
“Enjoy life for all I care but not at the detriment of that innocent girl's happiness. Don't do this, bro." Desmond said in pains
“There's no point crying after spilled milk. The father agreed already." Nelson said
"I'm not surprised. The father is just concerned about his financial stability. I get it. But you can do well to tell him you don't want her anymore.” Nelson said
“I'm going to pick her up tomorrow. If you care to see her, come to my house tomorrow evening." Nelson said as he left for his house.
