Behind the mask

Chapter 8

Hadleigh found her way to Noel's room, she gave a light knock on the door and Noel answered to it.

"Come in". She heard his cold voice.

She let out a light sigh before stepping into the room. Noel raised his. head for a split second before returning to his work.

Hadleigh stood at a corner, stealing glances at her boss. He had his mask on as usual covering his nose and mouth down to his chin, his hair also curved forward a little at the top of his eye lids. He wore a reading glasses and he was focused on his work, this time he didn't take it to his study.

"Prepare my bath please". Noel's voice shocked her back to life.

"Yes boss". She turned to leave but she discovered that the room had three doors two to the left and the other to just ahead.

She was so confused on which of the door to take, as if he was reading her mind Noel said.

"The bathroom is ahead".

"Oh thanks boss".

She hurried into the walk in wardrobe and headed straight for the bathroom. The bathroom was a big space of its own, it was a double bath, it had the jacuzzi to the right and the shower to the left with only a curtain demarcating both.

Hadleigh quickly fill the tub with water and came out to inform her boss.

"Sir, your bath is ready".

"Hmmm".

Noel stayed a little longer on his work before he got up and went into the wardrobe while he gestured Hadleigh to come with him.

She quietly walked behind him until the were completely in the wardrobe, he took a towel from one of the racks and put it around his shoulders. Hadleigh stood quietly behind him, like a statue she didn't even say word.

As soon as Noel started taking off his shirt, she turned around and shut her eyes. Noel took if his shirt and turned to her, a little smirk appeared on his face, something he hadn't done in ages to innocent mind made him do.

"Don't worry I'm not going to strip before you. Turn around".

Hadleigh obediently turned around slowly, biting her lower lip. "This girl really is something", Noel thought to himself as he admired her little innocent acts.

"Open your eyes". Noel ordered with his hands in his pocket, that was his usual pose demanding respect wherever he went.

Hadleigh blinked her long lashes multiple times as she opened her eyes slowly. She gasped for air as she almost forgot to breathe, she was caught off guard by his alluring body. All his muscles and biceps where perfect.

Noel let her stare at him wide eyed for a while. "If you are done staring please get me sleeping cloth before I get out of the bathroom".

Hadleigh turned red with embarrassment, she shut her eyes and quickly turned around to leave while Noel headed to the bathroom.

All the clothes in Noel's wardrobe were completely black including his nighties. "Doesn't he get tired of this colour?". She whispered to herself.

Noel got out of the bathroom drying his hair, he still had his mask on. Hadleigh fought the urge to look at his amazing body, she handed him the clothes and stepped out of the wardrobe, closing the door behind her.

She let out a light sigh as she got out of the wardrobe. Was it really this has being a personal maid.

Noel stepped out of the wardrobe moments later and it was past eight already she had to make his snacks.

"Sir, I have to go and bring you snacks".

"I'm not interested". Noel sounded rather unwell and Hadleigh noticed it.

"Sir are you alright?".

"Yes, I just need some rest". Noel answered blank stepping into his bed.

He stretched out a book to Hadleigh which she hurried to take from him. She looked at the at the cover page and there was disappointment written all over her face.

How could he be reading motivational novels to go to sleep, she was certain she would even fall asleep before him.

"You don't have to use the maid quarters, you'll be living in the room next to me, the door to the right".

Hadleigh was shocked but there was not a thing she could say but to thank him, after all she was a maid too getting such privileges were rear.

"Sit". He said patting the bed, gesturing her to sit by his side.

Hadleigh sat by his side and read the novel to him while he shut his eyes trying to sleep.

Noel opened his eyes few minutes later because he could not longer hear her voice and he found that she had falling asleep sitting on how bed.

Normally Noel would have reacted to it but today he just let it go. Noel stayed up staring at the little girl who looked indescribably cute as she slept.

Hadleigh slowly came back to reality rubbing her eyes with the back her palm, Noel quickly shut his eyes pretending to be asleep. Realizing that she was still in Noel room, she jerked up in fear bit noticed that he was already asleep.

She leaned forward admiring his flawless face for a while, feeling tempted to run her fingers through his hair she whispered.

"He is not that bad, he is worth the many rules".

She got up and headed for her room after returning the book to one of his drawers. Noel opened his eyes and was surprised at himself for why he did not react. He just watched her disappear into her room.

Hadleigh got to her room completely exhausted from the days work, she barely even looked around her new environment before she dropped on the bed and fell asleep.
