‘Thane?’ I rub my tired eyes, wondering if I’m dreaming, but I know I’m not. Looking across the bed, I smile. Rain is lying on her left side, one arm under her head and the other around Mark, who was sleeping between us.

‘Yes. I know it’s late, but Aurora’s sick. Xale called and told me about Levi. We believe this is what’s affecting Aurora.’
