All the more so because he now had an insight into her character and knew she both meant what she said and would follow through with it.
As he stood before her desk in the same study where he had waited upon her with coffee and been taken aback to find her in Western clothing for the first time - and had even lowered himself to his knees to supply her hosed feet with a foot rub on a few occasions since - she had explained her reasoning for the decision she was only now presenting to him.
