Two weeks later
-Angel's view point-
It has been two weeks, all my wounds healed and didn't leave any scars thanks Yukino. My wings were back to normal or even better, with her they even felt softer. I walked around the hotel and bumped into Yuri. I never pushed for her real name but maybe it was because she lost her memories that she just used her mother's name.
"Hey Kid!" She turned and gave me a bright warm smile.
"Well good morning sir Angelo." She said kindly. Today she had on a pink kimono, with blue flowers on it. She had her hair done in a waterfall braid.
"You're looking cute today."
I saw her face lit up, and then turned red. I couldn't help but to make a smirk. "So, kid, go get your things. We would be leaving here soon."
She tilted her head. "I'm sorry, sir?" She was confused.
"Guessing by that answer your father never told you." I watched as her body became a little stiff.
"Huh?" I sighed and dropped my head.
"Okay long story short you're moving in with me for a bit in the city."
She side eyed me which I've never seen her do before, it took me by surprise. I watched as she took a deep breath and then held it, then slowly let it out. She nodded. "Okay I'll go pack my things." She bowed her head and then left.
"Heh, well that was easy." I chuckled.
After two weeks of being here, I haven't learned much about her since she was always trying to do her chores, make food, clean, and whatnot. The only time I had time with her was when she was tending my wounds.
It was about early afternoon when I went to her room. I knocked on the door, and I heard some shuffling around inside. The door slid open. "Oh Sir Angelo!" She chirped. I couldn't help but to smile.
"Hey kid are you still packing." She nodded, and turned to go back to her room. I entered, this was the first time I actually came inside of her room.
A room almost like mine but had more warmth and love. She had flowers on top of her dresser, and a photograph of the Yukino family. Akita has his arm wrapped around a beautiful woman, with white hair and the same eyes of Yuri's. She had a white yataka with blue snowflakes scattered among it. 'So this is the real Yuri.' I thought.
"Hey kid can I be serious and ask you something?" I felt her eyes on me.
"Anything Sir Angelo." She walked up to me, and noticed I was looking at the picture.
"Who's this gorgeous lady?" I pointed to Yuri.
"Oh that's my mother." She smiled.
"Oh what's her name?" She went quiet and I could feel the room get slightly cooler. I looked down at her. Her eyes were almost frosted over. "Hey kid." She piped up and looked at me with a warm smile.
"Yes, sir Angelo?"
I narrowed my eyes, I let out a sigh. "It's nothing kid." I chuckled. 'So when I push her for memories she literally freezes.' I was thinking. 'so this is gonna be harder than I thought.'
I looked around and saw she only had one suitcase. "Is this it?" I asked. I looked over to her.
"Well, it's just some clothes Sir Angelo. I plan to do my share so I will pay for things I need, when I get a job."
Right off the bat she was trying to be an adult. Hell she was a better adult then I was. "Look kid let's get you settled in before you go off on your own. The world is a big place. It would be nice to have a nest to come back to." She looked up at me.
"Okay, Sir Angelo. Until then I am in your care." She smiled. I couldn't help but to smile back. 'Well, I guess I don't have to babysit her after all.' I thought.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was after lunch, she decided she was ready to go. We were at the front of the staircase that led to the hotel. Akita hugged his daughter, saying how much he was proud of her, and how she became a beautiful woman. It was a bit too sappy for my taste. I just ignored it. I put my hands behind my head and relax into them.
I stretched out my wings to their full length and it felt nice, after being cooped up for two weeks. But first things first I got to get a new phone, and maybe on for Yukino.
"Sir Angelo?" My body stiffened and my feathers ruffled. I turned around and looked at icy blue eyes.
"What's up kid?"
She smiled at me. "I'm ready." She said holding on to the small suitcase.
"Okay well we are gonna fly to my place." I could see her body stiffen.
"Oh, okay." She looked away from me.
"Something wrong?" I asked. She shook her head no and smiled at me.
"No, I'm fine Sir Angel. But thank you for asking." I was a little confused. 'is she scared of heights?'
"Alright kid turn around." She gave me an odd look and then turned slowly. "Now don't let go of the suitcase alright and if you need to close your eyes." She didn't say anything but I saw her nod. I wrapped my arms around her waist.
"Do you trust me?" I whispered beside her ear.
"Yes, I do Sir Angelo." I smiled and I breathed in. I could smell the fresh rain on her with flowers.
"Okay hang on tight." I flapped my wings hard, and took off. I felt her body jerk back trying to push hard into my body. A small squeal came from the back of her throat as she tied not to scream.
Once we got high into the air I was able to see where we are. "Hey kid, is your eyes open?" I felt her stiffen a little, and she shook her head. "Well the view is beautiful." I heard a small gasp from her.
"Wow." I heard her whisper. I couldn't help but to chuckle.
"See kid it's beautiful up here." Her body slowly loosen. I heard her say something but I couldn't make out because of the wind. "You say something?" I asked. She shook her head. I couldn't see her face so I couldn't tell if she was lying or not. But I felt her heart was beating like million miles an hour. "Well let's head out."
We finally reached my apartment building on the edge of the town closest to the forest. I sat her down gently. Her body shaking and trying to stay steady I couldn't help but to laugh at her. "hahahahahaha sorry, sorry." I couldn't stop as she was walking to the building like a baby deer that was just born.
"Never been that high huh?" I finally spoke other than laughing.
"No, sir, I haven't." Even her voice was shaky. I walked over to her. She hand her hand on the building and her eyes glued to the ground.
"Alright, there-" stopped and thought for a moment. "Well since you just flew for the first time I guess I should start calling you baby bird?"
She looked up to me, and smiled slightly. "So...Alright baby bird, let's get you inside." She smiled up at me.
"Okay, Angelo." My eyes widen.
"What you didn't say sir?!" I shouted. She pulled her free hand to her chin and giggled.
"Well you didn't call me kid."
I let out a chuckle. "I feel like we just level up. Well mostly you but still." I laughed.
She gave me a closed eye smile. "Sure."
I walked her up the stairs to the 3rd floor and the last door on the right. I grabbed the spare key from the bird nest wreath looking thing that my friends bought me as a housewarming gift. I unlocked the door and flicked on the lights. I let her go in first and followed behind as I closed the door. "I know it's not much but welcome to my nest of a home." I laughed. She turned to me and was trying to study my face. "Also here, so you can leave when you want and be free." I handed her the key. She held her hand out and just looked at it.
"I know right now you feel out of place but I'm sure we will make this into a home for you okay, baby bird." She looked up and nodded. I smiled, as welcoming as I could. "Alright tour time!" I took her so called suitcase and put it on the floor, and grasped her hand. It was slightly cold but not like when she is freaking out. I walked her into the living room. "Okay tv is here." I pointed over to the other side. "Foods there." I started walking her down the hall. "Bathroom here, and my rooms on the left, you can have the one on the right. There's already a bed and everything so you won't be sleeping on the floor." I turned and looked at her. "I know it's a lot smaller then your home but-" she shook her head, and looked up at me.
"This is actually perfectly sized." She smiled.
I couldn't help but to smile back. "Well I have the best part to show you still." I took her hand again and went back to the living room, and to the sliding glass door. I pulled her out to the deck. "This is my perch. I love being out here." She slipped her hand away from me and walked to the fencing. I could see a smile form on her face as she could see her forest home.
"Thank you." She whispered. I just smiled. I wasn't sure what but I wasn't gonna ask.
I stood beside her and leaned into the fencing, my face facing the forest but my eyes looking at her. The wind blew gently but enough to make her hair dance. I couldn't help but to let out a happy sigh. I slowly closed my eyes so this moment would be burned into my memories.
After a few minutes of us just standing there, I stood up. "So I need to get a new phone cuz the old one is busted. Would you like to come with me, baby bird?" She turned her body and looked at me, she gave me a smile and nodded her head.
"Okay, Angelo." I smiled, she walked towards me and turned around so I could hold her. I wrapped my arms around her and we took off to the shopping district.
