Chapter 4 Fallen Angel

-Yukino's view point- My eyes slowly opened and I was still snuggling up against Sir Angelo. His wings wrapped around us, he was letting out soft chirps like a bird in his sleep. I chuckled and tried to stand up but my body held down by his arms around my waist. "Sir Angelo?" I heard him say something but it didn't sound like real words. "Sir Angelo?" I asked again. I felt him shift and hugged me tighter. "Don't-" I heard him say. "Fae.... Don't leave..." I reached over my head and touched his face. I felt, his soft cheeks slightly wet from tears. 'Maybe it was a friend of his?' I thought. I wiggled and his arms opened and fell to the side, I was free. I stood up and stretched, my back was hurting slightly for sleeping sitting up on the floor. I needed to head to the kitchen to start breakfast but Sir Angelo was sitting at the door that led to the hallway. I let out a sigh, and was about to unlock the backdoor. Something soft brushed my hand. It was a red feather. I turned and Sir Angelo was in the middle of a yawn. "Where are you going Kid?" I smiled. "I have to make breakfast for everyone." I answered. He stood up and stretched out, his wings taking up the whole room. "Well at least let me come with ya." I sighed. "But Sir Angelo you're a guest, I should take care of you." He smiled. "Heh, no can do kid." I bit my lip and sighed in defeat. "Okay Sir Angelo, let us go make breakfast." I could see a smile creeped on his face. His blonde hair was more in a mess then normal, and his eyes looked like they were getting bags under them. I felt horrible but there wasn't much I could do at the moment. -Angel's view point- I followed Yuri to the kitchen, and stood there. "Do you think those guys are coming back?" I asked, grabbing an apple. "I'm not sure. I could smell alcohol on their breath, so they probably won't even remember what they did last night." She answered not even bother by it anymore. "Damn Kid aren't you a little cold." I laughed. She looked at me. "Well that wasn't the first time." I choked on the apple. "Wait what?!" She smiled at me. "It's okay people never got far enough to hurt me sir Angelo, or when they got too close I would freeze them and then they would want to leave the next day. " She went back to whatever she was doing. I took a bite out of my apple and walked to the coffee maker and started brewing coffee. "Well I'm here I might as well help." I smiled. She looked at me. "Well I usually kick even my father out of the kitchen so I can cook." I put my hands up. "Fine fine, I get it kid you want to be alone. I'll just grab some coffee and sit at the table alright." She smiled at me. "Okay Sir Angelo." I smirked and then sighed. I grabbed a cup and poured myself some coffee and left for the dining area. "Well my phone is totally ruined, and I just gotta sit here bored until food comes." I whispered. " Well my friend, you are up early." I turned and saw Akita. "Yeah, your daughter had a bit of trouble last night with the boys so I had to step in." He dropped to his knees and bowed. "Thank you my friend Angelo, thank you for saving her." I scratched the back of my head. "Hey! No probs that's my job! I'm a hero after all." I smiled. "But still my friend, she tends to get into trouble a lot it seems, but thank you for watching out for her." He slowly raised and was dead serious on trying to find a way to repay me. "Well once they are done with breakfast they should be leaving." He sighed. If I was him I would kick them out last night but, I guess he needs money to keep this place going. I sighed, biting my bottom lip so I wouldn't say anything. "Well I guess I should see to the chores get done." He patted my shoulder and left. I finally took a sip of my coffee, I need some sugar and creamer, I'll just grab my stuff and run so Yukino wouldn't kick me out. I stood outside the door and I could hear her singing. Late at night I could hear the crying I hear it all, trying to fall asleep When all the love around you is dying How do you stay so strong? How did you hide it all for so long? How can I take the pain away? How can I save A fallen angel, in the dark Never thought you'd fall so far Fallen angel, close your eyes I won't let you fall tonight Fallen angel     I felt like once again she was singing about me. I watched in awe at her, I wasn't sure why but it felt like every time she sung a song it reminded me of someone, but I didn't know who. "You know Kid, you have a really good voice. I'm not surprised no one asked you to be part of a band or something." She turned to me, dropping a pan. "Sir Angelo!" She shouted she was a bit surprised seeing me there. She went to reach for the pan but I got it first. "Here Kid" I handed her the pan and she slowly took it avoiding my eyes. "Thank you sir Angelo." She whispered. Her face was red, all the way up her ears. I couldn't help but to smile slightly. I've only been here for two days and I feel more relaxed here then I did in the city. It was nice, I kinda felt...happy. I walked inside trying to figure out where the sugar was. "Hey where the-" she turned around and was practically underneath me. I looked down at her face. Her icy blue eyes looked warm and lovely with the sun glittered through the window. She had peachy almost ivory skin, with faint freckles running across her cheeks. Her lips, pink like fresh pink rose buds, and looked just as soft. "Sugar?" I finished. I could feel the heat coming up to my cheeks and I quickly looked away from her. She turned and handed me a small glass pot. "Here, anything else." Her tone was flat. I invaded her space, the kitchen. "Cr-creamer?" I stuttered and I didn't know why. She turned and got into the fridge and pulled out some vanilla creamer and handed it to me. "Now out." She turned me around and pushed me out of the way. My eyes looked around like I was trying to figure out what was going on. "Did she just-" I turned and looked back. She was working on the stove running like four pans and a tea kettle going as well. I made a smile and went to my seat to start drinking my coffee. I heard voices heading this way, TSK I clicked my tongue. I really didn't want to deal with them this early. They made their way into the dinning area and were already loud. It seems like the 3 boys that attacked her aren't here so I could lower my guard down. "Dude, why isn't the food ready yet?!" One of them screamed. "She's running late!" Another bitched. I gritted my teeth and took in a deep breath. 'Okay calm down they are leaving later it's fine.' I kept repeating that line in my head. "So birdboy you still haven't proved that she's your girlfriend. That must mean she's up for grabs." That was the last straw, I jumped up from my seat and grabbed the boy and held him up by his collar. "She isn't up for grabbing your scum. Hell the only reason she is nice is because she is doing her job, not because she likes you." His buddy jumped up, and ready to punch me but I smacked him with my wing, and went sliding across the table. Another just stood there. "You bastard let him go!" He was about to jump on me. "STOP IT!" Yukino yelled the room got cold, and frost formed on the walls. "Please stop..." She sadly said. "Breakfast is almost done okay. So please....stop fighting." I dropped the kid and he pulled away and started coughing. "We are gonna sue you!" The main kid choked. "We will make sure you never run this place again." I could see Yukino's eyes water up, like she was ready to cry. "Well, you guys are a bunch of idiots. This birdboy is the number three hero. I would suggest you pay your part and leave." The main boy stood up and looked at me. "You'll pay for this! I make sure of it." He started stomping off with his lackies behind him. I watched Yukino fall to the floor, tears finally over flowed onto her face. They had a glime of frost with them. "Don't worry about them kid. I'll make sure you and your pops keep this place going." She looked up to me. "This is the only thing I remember that has a part of my mother with it. I-i- can't lose it." She finally started to sob a little. I knelt down and rubbed her back. Her body was freezing, but it didn't stop me. "Come on kid don't cry." She wouldn't stop. I pulled on her arms and hugged her on the floor. "Look I'll make sure no one takes this way from you okay. I'll make sure your father has this place until he's ready to move on. Okay. Just please stop crying." I heard her sniff and slowly stopped. She pulled away from me. "I have some crepes made with strawberries and bananas in the middle." I smiled. "That sounds good, Kid." It was sometime after noon when the group finally left and I was thrilled to the bone that they were gone. Akita thanked me for standing up to them, and comforting Yuri. "My friend, you're more than welcome to stay here until your wings are fully healed, or I can take you back to the city, it's about a 2 hour drive, through the forest." I smiled and looked at him. I put my hands behind my head and laughed. "Nah it's cool, pops. I kinda like it here, it's quiet. So I'll stay a bit longer." He smiled. "Well I won't charge you a penny for staying here. But I do have a favor I want to ask you." He turned to me and I turned my head to him still in my pose. "When you head back to the city can you take my daughter with you?" My hands dropped. "You can't be serious?" I muttered. "See, she was hit by a car at a young age, and lost all memories of life back there. I was too busy up here to take her to school and my family doesn't live anywhere near Japan so, she doesn't know what city life is like." I sighed, 'so I'm now stuck babysitting? Just great.' I thought. "If you don't want to, it is fine, I just trust you since you stuck up for her more than once." The man had a point I did stick up for her, I mean it's my job as a hero, right? I shook my head. "Got to ask how old is she, that way I know she can get a job, and if she wants to go to school she can." Akita smiled. "She is 19." I smirked so Kid was pretty much the right nickname for her. "Alright I'll see what I can do once my wings are better." I let out a defeated sigh. "Thank you my friend Angelo! You don't know how much this means to us!" He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and gave me a squeeze. "Whoa easy pops don't break me before I'm better." He let out a roaring laugh. "You're right." He let me go. "I guess when you are ready to go let her know." I nodded. "Hey pops, can I ask something." He was about to walk away. "What is it my friend?" I looked out to the garden and it was raining. "It's about Yuri." I felt him face me. "My wife? What about her." I turned and looked at him. 'His wife's name is Yuri, then who is this girl?' I looked away. "Nevermind, pops."
