Chapter 17

The Power Within Lorenzo's embrace was like a warm, comforting blanket, shielding me from the storm of whispers that raged within me. I felt safe, protected, loved. He was right, of course. The whispers weren’t true. They were just shadows, the darkness trying to consume me. But I wouldn't let them. Not anymore. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart, trying to silence the whispers, trying to focus on Lorenzo's voice. “Listen to me, Grace,” he said, his voice firm but gentle. “These whispers are not true. They are not you. They are the shadows that seek to consume you, but they do not define you. You are strong. You are brave. You are worthy.” He held me close, his warmth radiating through me, his presence a soothing balm to my anxieties. “Let them speak, Grace,” he said, his voice a low murmur that echoed in my ear. “Let them whisper their lies. But don’t believe them. Don’t let them define you. You are stronger than you think, Grace. You have a power within you, a power that can overcome even the darkest shadows.” His words, like a beacon in the darkness, started to push back the shadows that had been threatening to consume me. I felt a glimmer of hope, a spark of strength, a surge of power. “But I’m just a maid,” I whispered, my voice filled with a mix of doubt and fear. “What kind of power could I possibly have?” Lorenzo chuckled, a low, rumbling sound that sent a shiver down my spine. “You underestimate yourself, Grace,” he said, his voice filled with a mixture of amusement and pride. “You are not just a maid. You are a descendant of the First Blood, a being of immense power. And that power is waiting to be unleashed.” He released me, stepping back a little, but his gaze never left mine. “Close your eyes, Grace,” he said. “And listen. Listen to the power within you. Listen to the whispers of your ancestors. They are calling to you. They are waiting for you.” I closed my eyes, trying to focus, trying to listen, trying to hear the whispers of my ancestors. And then, I heard them. Not the whispers of darkness, but a different kind of whisper, a whisper of strength, a whisper of power, a whisper of hope. “You are strong, Grace,” they whispered. “You are brave. You are worthy. You are the chosen one. The power is within you. Embrace it.” I felt a surge of energy, a wave of power that coursed through my body, a force that was both terrifying and exhilarating. “It’s happening,” I whispered, feeling a strange sense of wonder and excitement. "I can feel it! I’m powerful! But what do I do? How do I use it?" Lorenzo smiled, a genuine smile this time, a smile that warmed my heart. “You just have to believe in yourself, Grace,” he said, his voice filled with a mixture of confidence and encouragement. “The power is already within you. You just have to let it flow.” He stepped closer, reaching out to gently touch my forehead. His touch sent a jolt of energy through me, a surge of power that resonated through my body. “Trust me, Grace,” he said, his voice a low murmur that sent shivers down my spine. “You are powerful. You are ready to face the darkness. You are ready to change the world.” He pulled away, his gaze fixed on mine, his eyes filled with a mixture of hope and determination. “Now,” he said, his voice firm but gentle, “let’s face the darkness together.” He stepped back, his gaze never leaving mine, his presence a beacon of strength and hope in the darkness. I felt a wave of courage wash over me. I was ready. I was powerful. I was ready to face the darkness, to embrace my destiny, to change the world. And I knew I would do it, all because I had Lorenzo by my side. Because he believed in me. But did he truly love me or he just love me because of my power And maybe because I was a little bit crazy. But I didn’t care. I was ready to face the darkness, and maybe even save the world
