Ava pov
I lost my balance instantly and crashed hard against the wet ground. Pain shot through my knees and palms, but it was nothing compared to the pain tearing through my chest.
Behind me, the grand doors shut loudly.
The sound echoed like the end of my entire life.
For several seconds, I remained there on the ground, staring blankly ahead while tears rolled endlessly down my cheeks.
Everything replayed in my head again.
“You are weak.”
“You are wolfless.”
“You are not worthy to stand beside me.”
Every single word from Alpha Adrian felt like a knife twisting deeper into my heart.
The man I loved…
The man I sacrificed everything for…
Rejected me like I was nothing.
Not only that, he humiliated me before the entire pack and chose my own sister over me.
I slowly dragged myself toward a nearby tree and sat beneath it while hugging my trembling body tightly.
Returning home felt impossible.
I had nowhere else to go.
“I am pregnant…” I whispered shakily to myself.
My hand moved slowly toward my stomach.
“And I won't allow Alpha Adrian to know about this child.”
Fresh tears rolled down my face.
“If he had the courage to cheat on me with my own sister and humiliate me publicly, then he is not worthy to know he has an heir growing inside me.”
I swallowed painfully.
“Sophia already gave him everything he wanted. The Moon Goddess only gave me this child as a reminder of tonight’s embarrassment.”
After sitting there for several minutes, I finally gathered enough courage to return to the mansion gate to collect my belongings.
The moment I approached, two guards blocked my path immediately.
“You are not allowed to enter, Ava,” one of them said coldly.
I froze.
It was the same guard I cooked meals for every morning.
The same guard who once called me the kindest Luna in the pack.
Now his eyes held nothing but mockery.
“I only came for my belongings,” I replied quietly.
The guard smirked.
“Get her rags from the room,” he instructed another guard mockingly.
My chest tightened painfully.
Rags.
That was what my life had become overnight.
Moments later, my bags were thrown violently toward me.
One of them landed in a muddy puddle instantly.
The guards laughed loudly.
“You can leave with your trash now.”
I clenched my fists tightly while fighting back tears.
Not a single person defended me.
Not one.
I carried my bags silently and walked away from the only home I ever knew.
Hours later, I finally stopped a taxi near the roadside.
“Where to?” the driver asked.
“The Silver Moon Pack,” I answered softly.
The driver looked shocked for a moment before nodding silently.
The journey was long and quiet.
When we finally arrived, I noticed the entire Silver Moon Pack glowing brightly under the night sky.
Music echoed everywhere.
Bonfires burned across the pack grounds.
Wolves danced happily while servants moved around carrying food and drinks.
“It’s strange,” I murmured to myself.
“The weather is freezing tonight, yet this place feels alive.”
The taxi driver glanced at me through the mirror.
“It’s Alpha Lucian’s birthday celebration,” he explained.
“Everyone in the pack is celebrating.”
I nodded silently and stepped out of the taxi.
The moment I stood outside the gate, I felt completely lost again.
I had no idea why I even came there.
Maybe I only wanted to escape the memories haunting me.
While I stood there thinking deeply, one of the pack guards suddenly approached me aggressively.
“Hey!” he barked.
I flinched immediately.
“What are you doing here?”
His suspicious eyes scanned me from head to toe.
“Today is Alpha Lucian’s birthday. Every member of this pack should be inside celebrating, yet you’re standing here like a wandering rogue.”
He stepped closer dangerously.
“Who are you? A spy?”
Before I could answer, he suddenly raised his hand as if he intended to strike me.
“Stop it.”
A deep voice interrupted sharply.
The guard instantly stepped back respectfully.
A tall young man walked toward us confidently.
His appearance alone screamed authority.
Dark hair, sharp jawline and powerful aura.
He looked like someone important within the pack.
“Beta Amos,” the guard greeted nervously.
Beta Amos glanced at me carefully.
For a moment, surprise crossed his face.
“You are a beautiful she-wolf,” he said softly.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in this pack before.”
There was kindness in his voice.
Real kindness.
Something I had not seen in a very long time.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered awkwardly. “I didn’t mean to cause trouble.”
Beta Amos shook his head immediately.
“You are not causing trouble.”
He looked toward the guard sternly.
“Leave her alone.”
The guard bowed quickly before walking away.
Beta Amos turned back toward me.
“You look exhausted,” he said gently.
“Come inside. No woman should remain outside alone at night.”
I hesitated for a moment before following him.
As we walked through the pack grounds, I noticed people staring openly at me.
Some whispered among themselves.
Others looked shocked.
“The Beta found a mate for Alpha Lucian?”
“She’s beautiful…”
“I hope she survives his wolf.”
“She has no idea what she’s walking into.”
Fear slowly crept into my chest.
I looked nervously at Beta Amos.
“What are they talking about?”
He forced out a small smile.
“Don’t mind them,” he replied quickly.
“They enjoy gossip too much.”
Even though he tried to sound calm, I noticed the tension in his expression.
Before I could ask more questions, several healers suddenly rushed past us in panic.
“The birthday celebration is cancelled!”
Instant silence fell over the entire gathering.
The music stopped immediately.
The dancers froze.
Even the warriors looked frightened.
“What happened?” Beta Amos demanded.
One of the healers swallowed nervously.
“Alpha Lucian lost control again.”
The moment those words were spoken, fear spread across everyone’s faces.
My heart tightened.
Lost control?
Suddenly, an elderly woman dressed in silver robes walked slowly toward us.
Everyone bowed their heads instantly.
“The Goddess Priestess…”
Her sharp eyes landed directly on me.
The moment she inhaled my scent, her expression changed completely.
“She smells rejected,” the priestess said coldly.
Murmurs spread instantly.
“A rejected mate?”
“She smells wolfless.”
“She’s weak.”
“She’s cursed.”
Embarrassment burned through my entire body.
I lowered my head immediately.
The priestess suddenly pointed her staff toward me.
“Throw her into the Alpha’s den.”
My eyes widened in horror.
“What?”
Beta Amos stepped forward quickly.
“That’s cruel,” he argued.
“She has done nothing wrong.”
The priestess glared at him sharply.
“For five years our Alpha has suffered because of the Moon Goddess’ curse.”
Her cold eyes returned to me.
“Perhaps this woman was brought here for a reason.”
The wolves around us began laughing.
“She’ll die before sunrise.”
“Alpha Lucian will tear her apart.”
“She’s weak enough already.”
Fear consumed me completely.
“Please…” I begged softly.
But nobody listened.
Two warriors grabbed my arms roughly and dragged me away.
The further we walked, the colder the atmosphere became.
Eventually we reached a massive isolated building hidden behind the Alpha mansion.
The moment we stopped, a horrifying roar exploded from inside.
My entire body froze instantly.
The sound was terrifying.
Painful.
Filled with endless rage and suffering.
Another scream followed immediately after.
This time it sounded more human.
My breathing became shaky.
“What is wrong with him?” I whispered fearfully.
Beta Amos looked at the ground sadly.
“Five years ago,” he began quietly, “Alpha Lucian committed the greatest sin against the Moon Goddess.”
Everyone around us became silent.
“He once had a mate.”
My chest tightened immediately.
“She was weak and wolfless,” Beta Amos continued softly. “The entire pack mocked her constantly, but she loved Lucian deeply.”
I swallowed painfully.
“But Lucian cared more about power than love.”
The warriors lowered their heads shamefully.
“On the night of their mating ceremony, he rejected her publicly before the entire pack.”
My eyes widened slowly.
“She begged him not to reject her,” Beta Amos continued. “She cried and begged for mercy, but Lucian humiliated her instead.”
My heart shattered hearing those words.
“He called her weak. Useless. Broken.”
Those same words…
The exact same words Adrian used on me.
Beta Amos clenched his jaw tightly.
“His mate ran into the forbidden forest crying that night.”
Silence filled the air.
“She never returned alive.”
My breathing stopped.
“The Moon Goddess became furious,” he whispered.
“She cursed Alpha Lucian to suffer endlessly. Every full moon, his wolf tears him apart from the inside while his body heals repeatedly.”
A loud crash suddenly echoed from inside the den.
“LET ME OUT!” a deep monstrous voice roared.
The entire building trembled violently.
“For five years,” Beta Amos said painfully, “Alpha Lucian has lived in endless agony.”
The giant iron doors suddenly opened.
Darkness greeted me instantly.
The smell of blood filled the air heavily.
Chains rattled violently somewhere inside.
Then I saw him.
My breath caught immediately.
A huge man was chained against the wall with thick silver restraints wrapped around his arms and chest.
Blood covered his body completely.
Black veins spread across his skin like poison.
His glowing crimson eyes slowly lifted toward me.
The moment he saw me, he growled dangerously.
“Another sacrifice?” he snarled painfully.
I stepped backward in fear.
His wolf felt terrifying.
Wild,broken and dangerous.
“Get out,” he growled again.
The doors slammed shut behind me instantly.
I rushed toward them in panic.
“Please open the door!”
Nobody answered.
Outside, I could hear the wolves laughing cruelly.
“She’ll die soon.”
“Poor rejected wolfless girl.”
I hit the doors desperately.
Behind me, Alpha Lucian suddenly screamed.
The sound echoed throughout the entire den and even outside the building.
Blood burst violently from his skin.
I gasped in horror.
His wolf was literally destroying him alive.
“AHHHHHHHHH!”
He collapsed to his knees while struggling violently against the chains.
The silver restraints burned deeply into his flesh.
His eyes glowed brighter.
His claws dug painfully into the ground.
Then suddenly…
Something strange happened.
Warmth spread slowly through my chest.
I froze completely.
My heartbeat increased rapidly.
A soft feminine voice echoed inside my head.
Mine.
My eyes widened instantly.
My wolf.
After years of silence…
My wolf had finally awakened.
Alpha Lucian suddenly stopped screaming.
His wolf lifted its head sharply toward me.
A strange silver glow slowly surrounded my body.
The black poisonous veins covering Lucian’s skin started disappearing little by little.
The room became completely silent.
Outside the den, shocked gasps echoed everywhere.
“The curse…”
“It’s disappearing!”
“That’s impossible!”
My wolf stepped forward inside me gently.
Then she whispered one word.
“Mate.”
Alpha Lucian’s crimson eyes widened completely.
The chains binding him suddenly snapped apart violently.
The cursed marks vanished from his body instantly.
For the first time in five years…
The Moon Goddess’ curse had finally been broken.
