AVA battle with Norah

Williams POV The moment I turned around, danger wrapped itself around the entire celebration like a dark shadow. One second ago, the hall had been filled with laughter, music, and the sound of wolves celebrating their Luna. The next second, my entire world froze. Ava was nowhere to be found. My heart skipped violently inside my chest as my eyes searched through the crowd again and again. The bright decorations hanging from the ceiling suddenly looked meaningless. The sound of drums and cheerful voices became distant in my ears. Ava would never leave without telling me. Fear immediately settled deep inside me. I pushed through the crowd and hurried toward Amos, who stood beside the elders discussing something with a few pack warriors. “Where is my mate?” I demanded immediately, my voice sharp with panic. “Where is Ava?” Amos turned toward me in confusion. “Ava?” he repeated. “I thought she went to greet some of the females from the western wing.” His answer only made my chest tighten harder. “She isn’t there,” I said quickly. “I can’t find her anywhere.” The expression on Amos’ face changed instantly. He knew how dangerous things could become, especially with the tension surrounding Ava ever since she arrived in the pack. I clenched my fists tightly as I looked around the crowded hall one more time. I did not want to create panic inside the gathering. The elders were already watching my every move, waiting for the slightest mistake to criticize Ava again. If the guests noticed the Luna had disappeared during her own celebration, rumors would spread before sunrise. “I’ll find her,” I muttered. Without waiting for another word, I turned and left the hall immediately. The moment I stepped outside, cold wind brushed across my face. Then suddenly— A sharp pain struck my chest. I stopped walking immediately. My wolf growled violently inside me. The mate bond. I could feel it. “My mate is in trouble,” I whispered. The connection between us became stronger with every second. I could feel her emotions crashing wildly against mine like a storm. Her wolf was furious… uncontrollable… dangerous. Without hesitation, I began running toward the direction of the bond. The deeper I moved into the dark path behind the hall, the stronger the energy became. Trees shook around me from the pressure building in the air. Even the ground beneath my feet seemed restless. Then I heard it. A terrifying wolf growl echoed through the night. My heart nearly stopped. I ran faster. And the moment I reached the clearing, the sight before me froze my entire body. Ava had shifted. Her enormous silver wolf stood in the center of the clearing, glowing beneath the moonlight like a creature sent by the Moon Goddess herself. Her fur moved wildly with the wind while powerful energy surrounded her body. But it was her eyes that terrified everyone. Pure rage and raw destruction. Standing opposite her was Norah. Norah—the daughter of Ava’s beta. The same she-wolf who had suddenly developed feelings for me the moment I returned from the northern territories. At first, I ignored her behavior. I believed it would pass. But over time, her jealousy toward Ava became obvious to everyone in the pack. And now she stood there, challenging my mate openly. “ Why my trusted beta daughter.?” I asked myself, because has already turned my enemy. “You think you can come from nowhere and claim to be Luna?” Norah shouted angrily. Even from where I stood, I could hear the bitterness in her voice. “You do not belong here! Leave this pack now!” A dangerous growl escaped Ava’s wolf immediately. The sound alone sent fear through the entire forest. I could feel the warriors hiding nearby trembling already. But Norah was too blinded by jealousy to understand the danger standing before her. Ava stepped forward slowly, her silver eyes glowing brighter. “Not today,” Ava said coldly, her voice mixed with her wolf’s deadly tone. “You should have tried this on another day… not on the day this pack chose to celebrate me.” The wind around us became stronger instantly. Leaves rose violently into the air. Branches snapped around the clearing. Norah hesitated for the first time, but pride refused to let her step back. “You disgrace this pack!” Norah screamed. “You are not our true Luna!” The moment those words left her mouth, something changed inside Ava completely. Her wolf roared loudly. The sound was terrifying. The earth beneath us shook violently. I felt my own wolf step backward in fear. Ava slowly raised her head toward the sky. Then suddenly— A powerful wave exploded from her body. The wind became monstrous. Trees bent violently. The force slammed directly into Norah before she could even react. Norah’s body flew backward across the clearing and crashed heavily against the ground. A painful scream escaped her lips. Blood spilled from her mouth instantly. She tried to stand, but her body collapsed again immediately. The entire clearing fell silent. Even the night creatures stopped moving. I stared at Ava in complete shock. Her power… It was far beyond anything I had ever witnessed before. Her wolf was no longer simply angry. She had lost control. And if I did not stop her now, Norah would die. “Ava!” I shouted as I rushed forward. Her wolf turned toward me instantly. For one dangerous second, even I felt fear. Her silver eyes locked onto mine while energy continued swirling around her body. But then the mate bond reacted. I felt her pain. Her anger and ber heartbreak. She was not only fighting Norah. She was fighting years of rejection, judgment, and hatred from wolves who refused to accept her. Slowly, I stepped closer. “Ava,” I said softly. “It’s me.” Her breathing remained heavy. The wind still circled around us violently. I carefully reached for her. The moment my hand touched her fur, her wolf trembled. Then suddenly, her strength weakened. Her body shifted back slowly into her human form before collapsing directly into my arms. I caught her immediately. Her body shook with exhaustion. I held her tightly against my chest while she struggled to breathe. The terrifying pressure in the clearing finally disappeared. But the silence that remained afterward felt even heavier. My eyes slowly lifted toward Norah. She still lay on the ground weakly, blood staining her lips while fear filled her eyes for the very first time. Several warriors finally stepped out from the shadows, but none dared move closer. They had all witnessed what Ava just did. And now they feared her. But I did not. I looked down at Ava resting weakly in my arms, and anger burned inside me instantly. No one had the right to provoke my mate. No one. Especially not during the ceremony meant to honor her. I turned back toward Norah slowly. “The next time you try anything against my Luna,” I said coldly, “I will personally make sure you pay for it.” Norah lowered her eyes immediately. For the first time since meeting her, she looked truly defeated. I carried Ava carefully in my arms as I began walking away from the clearing.
