Nicky only laughed, though anger simmered beneath her smile. “Fine. Let’s just wait and see.”
Amari simply held Nicky’s hand, unwilling to waste her time on the two women. Instead, her eyes wandered back to the jade bracelet in her hand, the faintest spark of interest flickering in her gaze.
Louissa’s eyes narrowed slightly. She knew Grandma Clavel had always favored Amari, and the two often spoke in private. If Amari truly wanted that bracelet, there was no doubt the old lady would also approve.
