The walk hadn’t been too far or that bad, and I was stuck following after her like a love sick puppy which was exactly what I was minus the fact that I was a vampire. Love sick hybrid if you would. She was the first woman that both sides agreed on liking, instantly and there was no battling with my inner vampire or werewolf to accept the girl I liked.
The just instantly did.
In no time though we were inside her apartment. Now what was going to happen? Did we f**k? Did I just mark her and ask questions about it later? I wanted to, that was for sure. Stepping closer to her, I closed the distance between us after she closed the door. Tucking a strand of her colorful hair behind her ears, I looked at her silent for a moment.
“I like you Rainbow, Skittles... Dahlia.” I growled the words softly, my eyes changing to their bluish yellow hue and showing my desire for her as I kissed her.
She leaned into me, receptive of the kiss which I was still grateful for. Whens he pulled away a little, I could hear her breathing coming out a little heavily as she brushed her lips against mine. She was smiling.
“I like you a lot too, Jude. A lot.” She spoke, looking up at my eyes.
As soon as the words were out of her mouth she was kissing me again and I groaned into the kiss. Each time she’d gone out of her way to initiate a kiss it was like candy. I could feel my legs moving without so much as realizing it at first, guiding her to the closest wall and pinning her against it.
Mine.
The possessive claim was small at first and nothing for me to worry over. The only worry that would come from it was moving too fast. Something I didn’t want to do. The kiss became much more passionate and hungry as it continued on, enjoyin the feeling of her body pressed firmly against my own. It’d been so long since I was with a woman, at least one that I genuinely liked and wasn’t just another one night stand.
Her moan was like music to my ears as she kissed me, her back seeming to arch and press herself into me even more than before. Her fingers curled into my shirt, gripping it tightly. I lifted her slowly, feeling her legs wrap tightly around my waist. Licking her lips slowly, hoping to get her to part them for me I all but groaned when she did, my tongue slipping between her lips immediately.
I kept kissing her for several minutes, just memorizing the way her lips felt against mine and the way she tasted. Letting my hands travel along her sides and grip her ass so I could keep her held up right. Pulling away slowly I growled one simple word, wanting to know where to go.
“Bedroom...”
Both sides had clearly agreed at some point that they were getting laid tonight but that hadn’t been my plan. Not. One. Bit.
MINE!!!
Both of my sides screamed their claim, wanting me to mark Dahlia as ours. This was not the plan. Nope, nope this would be something that she said yes to. Something she wanted, not just me jumping with my eyes closed and just hoping for the best turn out. I wasn’t doing that again, not this time. When she gestured towards where the bedroom was I moved towards it and laid her on the bed, pulling back from her lips.
“You’re going to think I’m a tease but...” I groaned more to myself than her. “I don’t want to have s*x with you.”
As soon as the words left my mouth I realized just how horrible they sounded. That was not what I had intended to say or at least not how I intended for it to come across.
“I mean I do want to have s*x with you but I don’t want to rush into this listening to the wrong... head. You know what I’m sayin’?”
“No, I understand what you mean.” She slowly sat herself up, watching me with a smile. "Want some wine, Wolfie?"
I just slowly ran a hand over my face and beard, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to slap myself or not just yet. I was alone with this gorgeous woman and had the best possible opportunity to f**k the living daylights out of her and I couldn’t do it. I didn’t want to repeat history. I’d done that with my ex-mate. With Ashlyn, when we first me and sur we may’ve ended up together for a while but while I thought things were fine? Ashlyn seemed to have had some false pretenses about my personality despite how long we had been together.
I didn’t want that same thing to happen with Dahlia and I didn’t want to get caught up in the moment and just claim her without realizing what I did. I also didn’t want to leave though, either. I wanted to spend as much time as I could with her right now. Just soak up every second of this.
“Wine sounds good.”
I watched her ass as she walked out of the room, unable to look away until she was finally gone from my vision. f**k I was an i***t if things didn’t go well after this. Dahlia was gone for only a few minutes before she came back into the room holding two glasses of wine and handed one of them to me. I took a seat on the bed and watched as she sat herself down next to me, slowly giving me a once over.
She leaned closer, nudging me with her shoulder a little. “Do anything fun at home?”
I about choked on my wine, trying to fight back my laughter when she asked me that. Honestly, it was the first time I’d laughed a genuine laugh in some time now. I wasn’t sure if she was purposefully saying it like she did or not but that had caught me entirely off guard.
“Trust me, what I’ve been doing at home lately? Probably not for your ears, yet.” I smirked slowly, my eyes flicking between gold and blue again. “Tell me something about yourself?”
I was trying to ease the tension that was left in the room still, trying to get past just how much I wanted her still. I just needed to talk about something else or do something else so I would get my mind off of all of it.
“It can be anything from your most embarrassing moment to your naughtiest, it doesn’t matter which I promise.”
I left out that part where I just wanted to know her, just wanted to find out exactly what made her tick. I didn’t want to call it a fascination because I knew it was more than that, but there was something about her that just made me want to learn everything I could about her. I watched as she smirked and then seemed to think about it for a moment. Her fingers drumming against her glass some, tilting her head to the side she stared at me.
“Uh, well, I’ve dated a whole one person in my life so far?” She said her eyes widening a bit as if she just realized what words had come out of her mouth. Lifting her cup to her lips she took a long drink from it. “I also worked as a bounty hunter for the Fire Court for a while. That’s a little less weird of a thing to tell you.”
One person? I was still trying to grasp that one. It was hard to believe as gorgeous as she was that she’d dated only one person. It just didn’t seem to make any sense to me at all. Upon registering what she’d said after that though I felt my brows pinch together in confusion.
“What’s a Fire Court? Excuse my ignorance.”
Though that part about being a bounty hunter sounded pretty cool to me. It meant she knew how to fight and that was good to know. I liked my women to be strong. I heard her laugh and it was almost like the sound of chimes blowing in the wind to me as she drained what was left in her cup.
"That doesn’t make you at all ignorant, the newer courts are kind’ve just popping up so to speak after all.” She pursed her lips in thought. “Fire Court houses all of the Fire Fey, Pixies, and all other beings of that sort. I’m part of the Spirit Court so I’m sure you can figure out where I belong.
As she spoke sh ewaved her free hand in the air in front of me, the air before her started shimmering a bit as if she were messing with the fabric of tiem in itself. That was interesting to see, to say the very least. Before I could even ask, she added on a little more information as well.
“We deal with the dead, the dying and the soul.” She added smiling just a bit.
