Chapter Six ALANNA STOOD THERE, her hot chocolate in her hand as she stared over at Larissa Stanford. Why was the woman even out of Massachusetts? By the wide-eyed look on the other woman’s face, she was just as surprised at the encounter as Alanna. During the shocked silence, Alanna ran her gaze over the other woman. They were both about the same height, Larissa maybe an inch shorter, and Larissa was a slender woman, fit and prim, whereas Alanna had a few extra curves to her that never bothered her until she was in front of someone like Larissa. Where Alanna had light red hair, Larissa was a stiff, dark-haired woman whose lips always seemed twisted into a constant sneer.
