First Encounter

'Are you okay?', a soft concern voice echo through Anna's ear sending a waves to her brain cell signalling there is an action needed to be taken. Back to reality, Anna hastily recover herself and stand back on her own two feet but her face blush with shyness. She cowardly response - 'yes, I'm fine thanks for the help... sorry for the sudden bump', said Anna while staring the ground as she not dare facing Mahan.

Mahan gesture his hand in front of Anna and bend down a little bit to face her. This action makes Anna more nervous as she tighten her fist. 'Glad you're fine, could be a trip to the nurse office if I didn't catch ya hahaha',Mahan let out a small chuckle to ease out the situation - 'yeah true, hope I didn't ruin your day by this unexpected small accident' said Anna as she wish to disappear from here or someone let her out from this embarrassing moment.

'Anna, are you okay? OMG! what a dumb trying to push everyone! if only I could smack that person', Liz come over towards Anna side while examining her in case there is any visible bruise or such. Anna just signal towards Liz indicates that she is fine, no need to make a scene as she was still feeling embarrass. 'Thank you Mahan for saving my little buddy here! See ya in class! - Liz grab Anna after saying that, Anna feeling grateful as Liz grab her wrist, waltz them out from there and make their move towards the entrance of Deciles High School.

What a lovely incident to start the day - Anna telling herself.

Mahan, who is being left behind still fixing his gaze towards Anna. He feel like Anna is quite a cute person herself and make him wonder is she will be in the same class as his. If their class is not the same, maybe he could ask for change as everyone know he has the highest authority in this school as his father is a big contributor for the school facilities.

Class 316 - Anna look at her class schedule while peeking at Liz's. Yes! she has the same class as her. Liz happily hug her and jump in excitement as this is the first time she has the same class as Anna. In primary school, they often have a separate class and only could catch up with each other gossiping stories during the lunch break. It seems that high school is in favor in their friendship.

They walk towards chemistry class together - yup what a bummer that the first lesson is already chemistry. Anna thought it will start with some literature class or history as these two is her favourite subject but the universe has a different plan for her. Liz already pick a seat while sign to Anna to quickly come seat next to her. Their seat is quite strategic is not at the front of the class nor at back, just nice in the middle and near the window for easy daydreaming while looking out to the street.

Ms.Vicky will be their chemistry teacher throughout this year, she is one slender woman in her late 20s wearing a spectacles with her shoulder length black hair. She seems nice that makes Anna a little relax. Ms.Vicky do not waste any time with a small talk as she browse through the syllabus and explain to everyone the breakdown of the scoring systems includes assignments,labs and final examination. Anna eyes start to sparkle hearing that they have lab for chemistry as she was really interested to conduct an experiment. Hopefully she get Liz as the lab partner as it will be much easier to discuss while being goofy together.

At the end of the lesson, Ms.Vicky have let out a transparent glass beaker that fill with small paper that have been fold.'Okay kids, I want you to randomly choose one paper in this beaker and show it to me as I will jot down who you will get as a lab partner. I don't want you guys to be pair together with your friends and make havoc during labs session. Now, move along and come get your partner's name', said Ms.Vicky.

Anna's heart has been pounding nervously as she walks closer to the beaker while praying please let it be a girl, please let her lab partner be a girl! She carefully pick one paper, slowly unfolding it as it show the first letter, Anna felt a little electricity running through her body - 'Mahan', one word being let out by Anna while Ms.Vicky writing down her name while saying loudly 'Anna Zane and Mahan Hayes! you two will be pair number 6,Next! - said Ms.Vicky as she gesture Anna to get out of the class and proceed to her next class. Sound of murmur echo through out the classroom while some of the girls let out a big sigh as they missed their opportunity to be pair with one of the hottest guys in the school.

Dreading her steps moving out, Anna felt like this was not a coincidence. The bad luck start when she take the almost fall this morning... she desperately want to change her lab partner with Liz but she don't want to take the risk of being scold by Ms.Vicky in the next class.

'Anna right?, it seems that our fate is intertwine again.. so, lab partner huh?, said Mahan while smile fondly towards her. She is speechless with the stunning smile as Mahan's dimple forming on both side of his cheeks, the eyes become a crescent like shape - oh my gosh so cute! Anna thought to herself. 'Yup, Anna Zane that's me, hope we can learn smoothly together in the lab' said Anna while trying to fasten her pace to go to history class. Mahan keep up with her pace and ask what class she in. Anna reply 316 without asking Mahan the same question as she doesn't want to know and hopefully they're not in the same class.

'Yes! same as me, looks like we will be seeing each other more', Mahan said joyfully.

This is clearly not happening! scream Anna in her heart.
