Why Me?

The walk towards the class feel quite longer than usual as more eyes stare Anna & Mahan walking together in the hallway. There is some cold and full of jealousy stares darted to Anna specifically. The green eyes make Anna heart feels miserable and this might be the start of a chaotic chapter in her life.

She steps into the classroom while being followed by Mahan, the class is still empty as there is another 5 minutes interval between classes that makes everyone takes their own sweet time strolling down the hallway before making their appearance in class. Anna sit in the class while her head turning around like a giant factory full of thoughts - what if the girl attack me because of Mahan? Do I have a hater now? Does he do not have any friend? Do I need to talk to him first? Should I keep my silence until there is people coming? All of this thoughts lurking in Anna's mind. Little did she know, Mahan secretly staring at her while smiling like a little puppy needing an attention from their owner. Should I strike a conversation with her? Mahan thought to himself.

'Ehem.. Anna, do you okay? I'm just curious about your condition after your little bump this morning. Do you sprained your leg?', Mahan's voice echo. Anna was startled by the sudden thoughtfulness shown by Mahan that makes her wonder does he always been this sweet and kind towards everyone.

Anna shook her head slowly while continue the small chat by stating that she was okay and no need to worry much as it was not a big kind of incident. Mahan continue smiling while agree with her words; 'As long as you're fine, it's okay for me though. Although, it was shocking for me too but yeah at least I could be your prince in the knight armor saving you from falling face forward in the first day of school', Mahan continue talking while still intently staring Anna softly.

She gulp and feeling quite scared, if that really happen and she fell face forward this morning, she might need exchange to another high school to save her from some embarrassment. While Anna deep in her thought, few students already coming in and occupied the empty seats. Mahan who is just a few seats across Anna make himself near to her and change his seat beside her without her aware.

Mahan adjust his book and carefully make himself presence to Anna while making a small noise to make Anna know that he is here. Anna who is still absent minded, snap back to reality as she hear sound of chatting and stationary being taken out slowly increasing in volume. To Anna suprise, Mahan already seat beside her and let out a small giggle after he saw Anna's shocking expression - what a funny face to do, whisper Mahan to himself.

As Liz enter the classroom, Anna wave at her to make her seat at her left in order to make her feel more at ease. This creature called Mahan just make her uncomfortable with his stupid smile. Liz instantly fasten her pace to seat beside Anna at the same time wonder why does Mahan suddenly took an interest towards her best buddy..? 'I should try to prevent Mahan from making Anna a victim of his whatsoever evil plan in his mind', thought Liz to herself.

History class was handle by Mr. Jay is really interesting although history could be a boring subject for most people but for Anna, it is her favourite subject in this whole wide world. The curiosity of the past that makes us today can live in organizational structure that also include the advancement of technology in our society. Without the help of history, we might not know where is our origin and the backbone of our culture. Anna was in spell throughout the history lesson that makes Mahan's presence is not a concern to her anymore.

'Now, same as the other class, I want you to work in pair for your group assignment. The title will be give to you by me in your next lesson this Wednesday. I hope you could find a partner before that. Mind you, the partner must be opposite gender as I don't want you to be pair with your bff. This method will help widen your horizon and perspective in history' said Mr.Jay.

What a nightmare for Anna as this was not expected by her. She start blankly to the whiteboard while thinking who should her pair with as she only know Liz for now....

After Mr. Jay bid his goodbye to the class, everyone frantically chatting over each other trying to make a partner before everyone else snatch the most popular person in the class. Anna just stick to her seat as she scrabble her notebook. She could hear a few people comes by to her right side asking Mahan to be their partner but gently rejected by him.

'So, partner again? Hope you don't mind as I'm thinking by partner up with you will make my grade higher cause your specialty is history right? Mahan break the silence.

Anna facing Liz while gesturing to save her from being Mahan's partner for this assignment too. However, Liz couldn't help her as she was already partner up with her fling, Daniel. Anna flabbergasted and don't know how to respond... she face her body towards Mahan slowly while saying - I think there is no other choices... Hope you don't mind me become your partner for this assignment too, said Anna.

Mahan is full with joy as Anna agreed to be his partner for this class too. He hope for other classes he will be partner up with her again hence, it will be much easier to know her more personally.

The thought of having Mahan for her partner for two lessons already put the burden on her shoulder due to the massive popularity of Mahan eventually, she will be a target of bullying among the wicked girls. She hope this will be the final class that she will be needed to be partner with someone as she rather do an individual assignment though it will be more tiresome and time consuming to do by herself. But it is much better rather than partner with Mahan right? Anna hopelessly thought to herself.

'Come on babe! don't be down, maybe there will be rainbow at the end of the day', Liz cheer Anna up while making their to the next class of the day.
