The Aftermath - 5

510 Words
I stayed in my room for I don't know how long, it seemed like a lifetime, I refused to go down for meals so the kitchen staff would bring food to my room. I had no appetite, I just replayed the scene of my father's betrayal over and over. I am sorry, little one - It's not your fault Jade- I know that but I am sorry you're hurting.- It's all bullshit Jade, All those talks about respect and 'Know your worth Jenn', 'Don't let a boy ever make you feel worthless baby girl', 'Don't take any crap from anyone', 'Family is everything' ,'Your word is all you have at the end of the day' . It's all b.s. How can he tell me those things and then betray the one the Moon Goddess made for him. I do not know, but I know He regrets hurting you- He needs to regret hurting my mother, and I'm sure that regret is simply because he got caught. Talking to Jade calmed me, but I could still feel the tears soaking my face, my father, my hero, the man I would've sworn could never, did. My heart broke more and more, I guess everything I thought I knew was a lie. A little after lunch there was a knock at my door, I could smell his scent and told him to go away. 'I am your father and Alpha, You will open this door or I'll kick yours in' he said. I don't know why he is using his Alpha voice, it's never worked on me, but I open the door and gave him a death stare, if looks could kill he would've died on the spot, been resurrected and died again. 'We need to talk' he said and walked into my room. 'I don't think we have anything to discuss Alpha'. I noticed him flinch a little at my use of Alpha, I know he hates when I call him that. 'You need to understand that I deeply regret what I have done, Your mother and you girls mean everything to me, I have begged your mother for forgiveness, I have made it a rule that anyone causing harm to their mates through infidelity will be punished, We have cleaned up the mess in my office and I thought you should know Henry, her brother, has filed a complaint with the Council of Elder's, they'll be here in two days to question me about her death, I will not tell them what happened, but since you were seen in my office after the fact they may want to speak to you, we need our stories match'. 'Match? I will not lie father, I will admit what I have done and not lie and cover it up. I am nothing without my word, my loyalty or my honor' I told him, hoping it will remind him of all the things he had told me over the years. 'I will still try to protect you baby girl' and with that he left.
