Blog Entry 14: A Letter from Alice and a ReplySo once more our sweet Alice appears in this blog. She’s been a shadowy figure from the start and I cringed from shame and embarrassment every time I thought of her reading the words I put to screen. I hope she knew I did this blog out of self-realization, out of a need to help other gay men who thought they could beat their orientation, who believed, as the fundamentalists wrongly told them, that they could change.
Guess what? She did. She knew. As she read my words here on this blog, I think something clicked within her. I guess I’m not surprised. Gay or not, I loved (and still love) Alice, although marriage was not the right avenue for us. But I loved Alice mainly because she was so sweet, so empathetic, and so aware and accepting of others
