I have no place to go

801 Words
Amara remained on the cold marble floor, her body trembling with a mixture of fear and desperation. She looked up at Olivia, her voice barely a whisper as she pleaded, "Where will I go, Olivia? You know I have nowhere to go!" Olivia's eyes hardened, showing no trace of sympathy. "That is none of my business," she snapped, her voice cold and unyielding. "You’ve grown up, Amara. Now find your own way." The words struck Amara like a blow to the chest. She clutched at her heart, her breath coming in ragged gasps. Around her, the maids and butlers looked on with sorrow in their eyes, unable to intervene, yet silently bearing witness to the cruelty unfolding before them. The warmth and safety Amara had once known in this house were being stripped away, leaving her feeling exposed and utterly alone. Stefania, standing beside Olivia, sneered down at Amara with a look of satisfaction. "Soon I will be Bryan’s wife," she said, her voice dripping with condescension. "And you think you can stay here? Right in front of my eyes?" The very thought of Bryan with Stefania, of them together in the life she had dreamed of, was more than Amara could bear. The image stabbed at her heart, twisting the knife deeper with every passing second. Her vision blurred, her strength abandoning her as she felt her knees give way. She crumpled to the floor, her body shaking uncontrollably. The cold marble beneath her felt like ice against her skin, but it was nothing compared to the coldness she felt from Olivia and Stefania. "Stop this drama!" Olivia roared, her voice reverberating through the grand hall. "And get out now!" Amara looked up at Olivia, her eyes wide and filled with tears, her face pale and stricken with disbelief. "I have no place to go," she whispered, her voice cracking. "Please… let me meet with Bryan… I beg you." Her words hung in the air, filled with a desperate plea that went unanswered. The maids exchanged helpless glances, their hearts breaking for the young woman who had once been part of this family, now being cast out without mercy. Olivia’s expression didn’t soften. If anything, her resolve seemed to harden, her eyes narrowing as she stepped closer to Amara, towering over her. "You’re not meeting with Bryan," she said sharply, her voice brooking no argument. "He has moved on, and so must you. You’re nothing here, Amara. You were just a charity case, and now your time here is over." Stefania’s smirk grew wider as she watched Amara’s devastation, her eyes gleaming with triumph. "It’s better this way," Stefania added, her voice dripping with false sweetness. "You don’t want to embarrass yourself by clinging to something that’s already gone. Bryan is mine now." Amara’s heart shattered further with each word, her breath coming in short, panicked gasps. She had fought so hard, dreamed so long, and now it was all slipping away from her, crumbling into dust right before her eyes. Her mind raced, desperately trying to find a way to make sense of it all, to find some hope in this nightmare, but there was nothing—only the cold, harsh reality that she was no longer welcome in the only place she had ever truly felt at home. "I won’t leave," Amara whispered, her voice shaking but resolute. "Not until I see Bryan. I need to hear it from him." Olivia’s face twisted with fury, her patience finally snapping. "You will leave, Amara. Now," she hissed. She motioned sharply to the butlers, who hesitated before stepping forward. They didn’t want to do this, but Olivia’s command left them no choice. One of the butlers gently took hold of Amara’s arm, trying to lift her from the floor. "Please, Miss Clarkes," he murmured, his voice heavy with regret. "Don’t make this harder than it already is." Amara resisted, her body shaking as she tried to hold her ground, but she was too weak, too heartbroken to fight back effectively. The butler’s grip was firm, but kind, as he began to guide her toward the door, away from the place that had once been her sanctuary. As they reached the threshold, Amara turned back one last time, her tear-filled eyes searching desperately for something—anything—that might save her from this fate. But all she saw was Olivia’s cold stare and Stefania’s triumphant smirk. With a final, broken sob, Amara was led out of the mansion, the doors closing behind her with a resounding thud that echoed through the emptiness of her heart. The life she had known was over, and the future she had dreamed of had been ripped away, leaving her to face an uncertain world alone, without the man she had loved for so long.
