Chapter 6 Adam knew it annoyed most people that he enjoyed Mondays; it probably helped that he genuinely liked his job. While many of his colleagues would come dragging in desperately clutching their coffee mugs like they were oxygen tanks, he was a morning person and drank coffee because he liked the taste—or maybe just the sugar. Adam had learned not to arrive at work whistling, humming, or singing. Out of respect for the weakened state of his fellow employees, he tried to curb his natural inclination to be jovial and gregarious first thing in the morning.
