I'm your wife2

Anora’s heart beat wildly against her chest. Even though her back was turned towards Aiden, her breath couldn't help but quicken and her palms turned slightly wet The same scent! The same one that filled the room attacked her nostrils. Coupled with the vague smell of alcohol Tristan released her hand, but didn't say anything. Slowly, Anora turned towards him. As she looked up at him, her eyes shone He was….captivating. His deep-brown eyes, brown hair, pointed nose, peach-colored lips, and his perfectly-carved face. All those features on a single person! Not to mention his towering height, which threatens anyone and makes one feel safe at the same time He was wearing a black suit. A stud earring rested perfectly on his left earlobe. Anora fell into a trance, unable to even blink “I heard grandfather came around” Tristan finally said Anora still didn't say anything. Whether it was his voice or his looks, he possessed a dangerous kind of charm. Her heart wasn't made of stone anyway. She'd admire a beauty if she saw one “Stop staring. I'm not a ghost” She finally snapped herself back to consciousness. What was wrong with her? All along, she thought she was a tough girl who couldn't be shaken by most men. “Uh… Yes, he left a while ago. He said he'll return by 7 to come see you” “Mhm” He nodded “Name?” “I don't know grandfather's name. You should know, you're his grandson” Anora realized what she said only after she uttered the words. She gave herself a mental facepalm. The man in front of her was making her really nervous She gave an awkward laugh before continuing “You mean my name….Yeah, I'm Anora Sinclair” “Tristan Evander” “Uh… Nice meeting you” At that point, Anora wished the ground would open and swallow her. What the actual fvck? Why did she say that? He was her husband for Christ's sake!! “Mhm” He replied and entered the room Anora stared at the door for a few seconds before she turned around and went to the living room. She had nothing to do in that house and there was about an hour before it's seven. Seeing that there was no cook around, she decided to go to the kitchen to make dinner for Tristan and his grandfather “A house as big as this, yet, they don't have any maids. Weird” Just when she was done cooking, Mr Nelson arrived. He looked more relaxed and youthful than he did earlier He came with the same men as earlier. Anora guessed they were his bodyguards. Fancy! She welcomed him “Welcome back, grandfather” Mr Nelson received her welcome with a wide smile “Anora, you know, something about you reminds me of an old friend, Vera. We were close during our youthful days” Anora smiled in return. She was careful not to say anything uncalled for. Besides, less is more, less is safe “Where's that boy? Still not home? I see he cares so little about his grandfather. I've returned after a year, yet he seems not to care” Right after Mr Nelson said those words, Tristan came down the stairs. He removed his suit jacket and was only wearing his black shirt and trousers. His gait was gracious, each step giving off his aristocracy. He drew a seat next to Mr Nelson and sat on it “Is that how to welcome your grandfather home? I've been gone for twelve months! Come here and give me a hug” “I'm not your wife, grandfather” Tristan replied Anora’s eyes widened as she almost choked on the water she was drinking. Luckily, she was able to steady herself quickly Mr Nelson hit Tristan’s chair with his walking stick “You brat! How dare you? Your grandmother has an important appointment with Dells Puaire tomorrow morning. Otherwise, we would have returned together. I insisted on coming today because I couldn't wait to meet the woman who has been taking care of my grandson. It's not like I missed you, it's my granddaughter-in-law I want to see. Hmph!!” “Your actions prove otherwise. You missed me” Tristan replied unhurriedly. His face was the same as before, unreadable. He looked neither happy nor sad, just bare “What? Me, no!!” Mr Nelson turned to Anora “Listen here, I'm back in the country because I was eager to see you. I would have…. “ His words were cut off by Aiden’s remark “I missed you too” Anora turned to look at him. He was chewing his food carefully. His face was still unreadable as though he didn't just say something that could make anybody’s heart flutter A radiant smile was on Mr Nelson's face “Haha, I knew it! You know, Tristan and I are buddies. How can he not miss me?” Then, he laughed Anora just kept smiling. She turned to look at Tristan, then at Mr Nelson. What a bond! Anora knew Aiden cared for Mr Nelson. She knew to what extent he went to please his grandfather - getting married to a stranger The dinner went on with Mr Nelson doing most of the talking. Anora nodded from time to time while Tristan spoke when required. Things were going smoothly until Mr Nelson asked “How did the both of you meet? Anora, how were you able to capture Tristan’s heart? I have never seen Tristan with any girl. At some point, I was worried and thought he'd be single for the rest of his life. Now I have this good news of his marriage with you, I'm quite curious. When did you start going out with him?” Anora clasped her fingers under the table and wiggled her toes nervously. She could feel sweat break out on her face. What should she say? That she met his son an hour ago? His poor heart might give out. It's obvious that he wants Tristan to be married to someone he loves She threw a glance at Tristan. He looked unconcerned as though the conversation didn't involve him Just then, Anora’s phone rang She didn't bother to check who the caller was, she just connected the call. Anything to get out of the situation she was in. She excused herself to receive the call Phew!! Close call! “Hello” “Anora! Whe re are you? Get back home right this instant!” An angry voice rang through the phone “Mother…..”
