Kora’s POV
The next morning, the sky broke open in shades of gold and gray, the kind of morning that looked peaceful but carried tension underneath. I lay awake long before the sun rose, staring at the ceiling while Edward slept beside me. His arm was heavy over my waist, his warmth a constant reminder that I wasn’t alone, no matter how much the darkness in my dreams tried to tell me otherwise.
I hadn’t told him about Aaron’s voice whispering in my head last night. I didn’t know how to. I didn’t want to see that flicker of worry in his eyes, the one that made me feel like a danger to him instead of his Luna. So I kept it buried, hoping it would fade.
It didn’t.
Even now, with Edward’s steady breathing beside me, the echo lingered like smoke. You’re mine. You’ll always be mine.
