Alice's POV It was dark. Pitch black. I had no idea where I was going, or how long I could stay hidden. My face was plastered everywhere, and Robert had even put out a reward for anyone who could find me. Mom and Dad were gone, and it was all Jane's fault. If Mom hadn't used her body to shield Jane from that bullet, she'd still be alive. And I wouldn't be trapped in this nightmare. I hated her! I hated her! The first light of dawn was starting to creep in. I figured no one would recognize me at this hour. I needed to find some food. My stomach was growling, and I was running out of money.
