ALICE's POV
Mom insisted I go with her and Dad to talk to the doctor about Jane's situation. Even though I wanted to stay away, she wouldn't hear of it. She said I should be there as a sister.
When we got to the doctor's office, we ran into Robert again. His face was serious, and his eyes were fixed on me. The pent-up anger was obvious as he stared at me. But he didn't say a word.
"Sit down, Mr. and Mrs. Davis. I have discussed this with Mr. William. As a parent, I don't want to be unfair to you. You should have known this before, but the patient refused to let you know. Your daughter is in critical condition. She needs a heart transplant to survive. But first, we have to wait for the babies to be born before the operation can be done," the doctor explained.
