I feel strange, aside from the ache in my feet, I feel uncomfortable. Luis is beside me. We are standing in front of the room, waiting for alpha Rico’s meeting to finish. It will be any moment now.
I shift my weight, and I grunt at my soreness. I take a deep breath. We’ve knotted again earlier while in the shower.
Luis wraps his arms around my waist and supports me. I look up at him and see him grinning at the predicament I am in. I hit his arm.
“Stop laughing, this is your fault!” I scold.
He covers his mouth. “I can’t help it. I am very happy to have you here in Sierra Madre.”
