I ran until I couldn't breathe anymore. I was mentally beating myself up for what I did. There's nothing anyone else could do to me that would be any worse than what I was already doing to myself. Looking around me I noticed that I had crossed territory boarders at some point without even noticing. This isn't good at all. I'm really in for it now. I started hyperventilating as it slowly started to sink in just what I'd gotten myself into. I staggered towards a dimly lit alleyway. I needed to get out of plain sight. I need to get back to my own territory. Can I even go back? I just did the stupidest and possibly one of the worst things I could have ever done. Once I got my breathing back under control I slowly started to make my way back trying to follow my path back without being noticed. I'm never going to be trusted for spy missions that's for damn sure. I only made it a few alleyways back when a tight grip on my arm startled me. I turned ready to attack but my wrist was grabbed mid air.
"Now what do we have here?" A deep voice asked. I couldn't see his face because of the mask covering it. "A trespasser, I do believe."
I just sighed and looked to the ground. If they don't keep me; for whatever reason; they're going to deliver me straight to dad. Well, I guess I deserve it; either way this ends up.
"What's the matter?" He asked making me look up at him again.
"I don't know where I am." I stumbled over my words. It technically isn't a lie, but I do know that I'm in someone else's territory, and this could start a war. "I wasn't watching where I was going, and now I'm lost." I admitted. "I'm with the Lotus clan." I stated quietly.
"Where do you live?" He asked releasing my wrist.
"I can't go back." I sighed.
"Why not?"
"I did something incredibly stupid and immaturely ran away." I spit out feeling my self loathing start up again. "I can't face my family right now."
"What did you do?"
"I hit my mom." I said quietly, almost as a whisper.
"You did what?" His grip tightened on my arm. "Why?"
"I didn't mean to." I rushed out trying to break his grip. "She went to hit me, and I blocked it, and the next thing I knew I hit her with my free hand."
"Are you a fighter?" He asked.
"What does that have to do with anything?" I asked confused.
"Just answer me." He growled tightening his grip even more and pushing me roughly into the wall behind me.
"No, I don't even see field work." I nearly shouted. I'm pretty sure that if his grip gets any tighter he's going to break my arm. "All I know is from the lessons I got growing up, It's all just for self defense."
"Where do you live?"
"Please don't." I whimpered at the prospect of what was waiting for me at home. "I can't face them."
"Where do you live?" He asked again pushing me harder into the wall.
"I'm the chief's son." I answered quietly.
"Is that why you're sneaking around?"
"I'm not spying, if that's what you think." I stated quickly. "I honestly have no idea where I am." I added. "I was lost in my thoughts, and not paying attention to where I was going, and when I stopped running I was a few alleys that way." I rambled pointing in the direction I started in. "Honestly, I didn't mean to cross boarders. I don't even know what direction I went in after I left my house, or what territory I ran into, or who you are. Hell I couldn't even tell you what time it is right now." I rambled trying to make my point get across to him. "If you take me home right now my dad's going to kill me for sure just for crossing into your territory. Then he's going to bring me back just to do it again because of what I did before I ran away like the damn coward that I am."
"What's your name?" He was giving me a suspicious sort of look.
"What?"
"Did I stutter?" He growled in my face. "What is your name?" He repeated accenting each word.
"Hatchiko." I rushed out. "Hatchiko Kurosaki."
"You're the adopted son?" He asked.
"I-" I sighed and looked away from him. "Yeah, that's me." I said quietly. "The outcast."
"Come on." He said and started tugging me along behind him. He walked me all the way back to the territory lines never loosening his grip on my arm. The way he was pulling me along he was practically dragging me behind him. "This is the only time that I will ever let you get away with trespassing on my lands." He turned and pulled me closer to him so I could see his face now. When did he take off his mask? "This is your one warning." I nodded my head.
"I understand." I stated quietly. "It won't happen again."
"I'm only being lenient this time because you're already having a bad night, and I believe that you had no ill intent towards any of my people."
"You believe me?" I asked in surprised.
"You're eyes aren't showing me any signs of a lie." He stated. "I can see what you've been doing to yourself as well." He gestured towards my territory. "You should be ashamed of yourself, young man, and you had better get back and do anything in your power to make up for what you've done."
"Yes, sir." I bowed my head to him. "I apologize for trespassing on your land."
"You are forgiven, this time." He said and gestured towards my land again and let go of my arm. "Now, get going, you don't want your folks to worry to much."
"Thank you." I said quietly before heading back into my territory.
I wondered around for some time before someone spotted me and called out my name.
"Hatchiko!" I heard making me flinch before turning too face them. "Where have you been?"
"Running." I simply stated quietly. "I am on my way back home now."
"Everyone knows what happened." He stated making me freeze and tense up ready to run again. "You can't hide from everyone."
"I can sure as hell try." I stated and took off again.
I heard his footsteps as he tried to keep up with me. I cut corners wherever I could, and took almost every alley, but something I didn't factor in was everyone's radios. Which means that every time someone spotted me they called in my location. This made my evasion attempts extremely difficult. I was in the heart of downtown before anyone finally caught me. If you can even call it that.
"Hatchiko Kurosaki, you will come with me this instant!" I heard from behind me as I was making sure there weren't any cars coming on the busy street I needed to cross.
"Like hell I will." I stated and turned away from him ready to run across the road. Just as I took off I collided with a wall of a man and proceeded to bounce off of him. "Damn, that hurt."
"Like I said, You will come with me." I heard from behind me.
"Screw you both." I growled and tried to duck under the man in front of me. "I can't go back."
"You don't have a choice little brother." Takashi said joining the man behind me with Niero and Kaminae.
"Come on Hatchiko, mom's really worried about you." Niero said stepping closer towards me.
"That's a laugh." I scoffed at him. "I left because I know what's going to happen when dad finds out." I entered into a defensive stance turning so that they were all in my field of vision. If they're taking me home they're going to have to fight me. "He won't care that it was accidental."
"Stop being dramatic." Kaminae sighed. "You're forgetting that you're dad's favorite; he won't do anything to hurt you."
"Don't kid yourself." I snapped. "I can't go back now. You know it as well as I do."
"I'm tired of this." Takashi huffed. "Get him."
upon hearing his command both men charged at me. I side stepped one and sent my elbow into the stomach of the other. He doubled over and my knee connected with his face. I can't specify if it was his nose specifically. He collapsed and I focused on the other man as he charged at me. He landed a well timed right hook, but it just knocked me off balance and busted my lip. I glared at him and waited for an opening as I watched his movements as he tried to land more blows. I finally found my opening. He pivots on the opposite foot that he's going to swing from. When he pivoted his right foot i prepared to shift as well. When he swung at me I took my chance and lunged at him. I swung and hoped that my blow would land, I was going for his jaw. Unfortunately it was just a glancing blow. I put to much force behind my swing and ended up stumbling past him. Just as I turned around to face him again I caught a hard punch to the ribs. It knocked the wind out of me, and my ribs are definitely going to be bruised if not broken. I stumbled back and shot him another glare.
"Just come with us." He growled at me. "I don't want to have to hurt you anymore."
"You can try." I stated.
Without my noticing we had circled around so that I was in front of my brothers. It wasn't until Takashi grabbed me from behind that I even noticed. I elbowed him in the nose and heard a satisfying crack, He grunted but didn't let go. He tightened his hold which made my ribs hurt to the point that I couldn't breathe. I was trying to pry his arms off of me, but when spots started filling my vision I started to panic. The more I struggled the tighter he held on. It wasn't until I started gasping that the man I was fighting told him that he needed to loosen his grip.
"If he passes out it'll be easier to get him back home." Was Takashi's simple response. Which just made me struggle that much harder. "Stop struggling." He said hitting the back of my head, hard.
"Maybe you should be more careful on his ribs."
"Maybe you should worry about your partner." Takashi spat back at him.
I could feel the energy leaving my body due to the lack of oxygen. I just let myself go limp in his arms. As my eyes slid closed I felt my head hit his shoulder.
