Once we entered Corrine's childhood bedroom, I slammed the door closed and stomped toward the bed. "We were here less than five minutes and you were already asking about Brayden!" I hit my fist on the oak nightstand, which shuddered from the force. "You made me a promise, Corrine! You promised you would not be alone with him!"
