Chapter Six The Dean’s Desk The dean was out of town. Professor Maddox knew it. I knew it. But still—walking into her office at night, keys in hand, lock turning behind me—I felt like the devil was dragging me toward something I’d never come back from. “Don’t hesitate now,” Maddox said, his voice low and sharp behind me. “This is what you wanted, isn’t it?” I swallowed. He stepped forward, locking the door behind us, his body close to mine, his heat searing into my skin even through my clothes. The dean’s office was pristine. Mahogany shelves. Certificates framed perfectly. A tall glass window overlooking the courtyard. A wide desk that screamed authority. Respect. He didn’t let me admire it for long. “Skirt off,” he said.
