Chapter9

1083 Words

Rose's POV "I didn't set fire to my hair!" I shouted back at Kane, my voice hoarse from the smoke and my throat still sore from screaming. "Samantha did this to me! She poured candle wax on my head and lit it on fire!" Kane's expression changed from anger to shock, and for a moment, he looked like he didn't know what to say. But then his face hardened again, and he growled, "I don't believe you. You're just trying to get attention." I felt a surge of anger and hurt at his words. How could he think that? Didn't he know me at all? But before I could respond, Elise spoke up. "Alpha, we saw Samantha leaving Rose's room just before we heard her screams. And we saw the state of Rose's hair and skin. It's not something she would do to herself." Kane's eyes narrowed, and he turned to Elise.
